In action role-playing games like Diablo 4, powerful builds often become the major draw for players. And crafting a powerful build requires not only a complete mastery of all gameplay and mechanics but also the expertise and determination to complete the build by acquiring all the necessary Diablo 4 items.

Here, we’ll talk about everything we know so far about Diablo 4 Season 3’s build, what will be meta, what won’t, and a few things we can speculate about. So let’s start with what we know.

What Can We Expect From Diablo 4 Season 3 Builds? - Info & Speculation

Developer Season 3 Build Nerf Interview

In an interview with EPN, the head of Diablo 4 talked about the overall goal of class balance in the game.

He said that as a developer, sometimes you focus more on balance than fun. Like you might say, ‘Everything has to be on the same level,’ and you’re really trying to be fair.

But the thing about Diablo games is that it’s really fun when you feel you’re cheating or exploiting some loophole to get extra Diablo 4 Gold or build buffs.

Especially in Season 2, Ball Lightning Sorcerer build is ridiculous, just like Hammer of the Ancients Barbarian. But that’s okay, they’ll take advantage of it a little and fix it next season.

So according to the developers, instead of trying to balance Diablo mid-season, they will try to rebalance at the end of each season. So this means that Hammer of the Ancients Barbarian will not survive into Season 3 in its current state.

So we already know that the current meta will be changed and these two builds will no longer reign supreme. Of course, at the moment we don’t know anything about the build that will keep the dominance going. As for which builds will be buffed, we don’t know much.

However, we’ll learn more during the developer livestream tomorrow, January 18th. This is where a lot of information will be revealed.

Info Regarding Arcane Construct Pets

Judging from the leaks, this season will be about the season of the beta mercenary. The trailer for Diablo 4 Season 3 released today finally reveals the name of the new season: Season of the Construct. You will have an Arcane Construct called Seneschal, which you can customize with the help of Zoltun Kulle.

Overall Design Ethos To Make Summoners More Powerful

Now, something like Arcane Construct reminds me of more magic-oriented classes like Sorcerer and Necromancer. In fact, the main power boost this season will focus on summoning, which is reminiscent of Necromancer and Druid.

I still vaguely remember comments made in previous developer live streams and campfire chats about the underrepresentation of Necromancer and Druid. I mean, both classes are in desperate need of buffs.

So, if the developers listen to the community, it will be revealed that they will be returning Necromancer and Druid this season. But if it was announced during this live broadcast that every class would be equally improved, that would obviously be the most ideal.

Class Balance Is Key

However, from previous interviews with the developers, we heard that they have basically concluded that class balancing is difficult unless everything is rebalanced every season.

There are currently no more ways to achieve class balancing. So we can’t really predict which classes and which builds will outperform others. All we can do is look at clues about the general direction the team wants to take.

But if I had to guess, I’d say that a situation where every class gets a boost is probably not going to happen, at least not this season.

What’s most likely to happen is that one or two classes will get unreasonable buffs, like we saw with HOTA Barbarian and Ball Lightning Sorcerer. But again, this is just speculation based on the overall drive expressed by the development team for months.

What to Expect & Predictions for Diablo 4? - Season 3 Class Balance

Summary

For now, I still hope for an overall class balance, because then everyone wins. And maintaining a balance between different aspects of gameplay is crucial to promoting versatility between builds and classes, ensuring a challenging experience for players trying out difficult content.

However, making too many nerfs to an overly powerful build for the sake of game balance often results in demotivated players, making the entire build process pointless. It also reduces the overall enjoyment of the game.

So, we’re guessing some classes and builds will be reshuffled every season from now on.

Anyway, this is my basic analysis of the build for Diablo 4 Season 3, and my thoughts on the theme of the season. Let’s look forward to the developer live broadcast on January 18th and see you all there.
