Is it possible to complete the Diablo 4 campaign without attacking enemies, AKA, a pacifist run on a brand new character without any Renown? The answer is no.
The main reason for this is that starting with Diablo 4, there’s now a prologue section that you are locked into. I spent a good couple hours trying to beat it without attacking anything, but it will just not happen.
Initially, the plan for this challenge was to build a Barbarian, stack a bunch of Thorns on her, and then boom. That’s it. Thorns is a passive ability that reflects a certain percentage amount of damage back to an enemy. We use this ability to let enemies use their own aggressiveness against us. And that way, we can gain experience and get through the campaign.
In Diablo 2, the common way to start a pacifist run is to leave the camp, go out, and find a bunch of super chests, which are chests that drop more items than the normal ones. After selling enough items, we can then go to charci the Blacksmith and keep resetting her inventory until she has an attacker take damage of X or Thorn’s item and then we’re up and running. Now, enemies can attack us and will deal damage to themselves by gaining us XP.
The problem with Diablo 4 is that there’s no way to gain an item that has thorns in this prologue. Thorns in Diablo 4 are on four types of Diablo 4 Items: amulets, chest armor, pants, and shields.
In the prologue for Diablo 4, there is a vendor. But he only sells weapons and white common ones on top of that. White common items don’t give additional affixes, like blue Magic or yellow Rare items do.
Alternatively, none of the chests either inside or outside the prologue dungeon will drop blue Magic items until we are at least level 4. Inside the dungeon, there are four barrels in this big room but no experience is gained if these barrels kill the enemies.
Regardless of whether or not they set the barrel on fire or if we dash into the barrel, which, in my opinion, dodging into it would kind of make the run that count anyway since we’re causing the barrel to explode directly.
Since there is no way to level up, there’s no way to get any magical items. Not quite. There is a special skeleton in the first area of the dungeon that drops Magic items. The problem is we don’t have a way to kill him. Even if we use all four barrels on him, he still has way too much health to be taken down. But even regardless of that, for some reason, this monster only drops blue Magic gloves, which isn’t one of the four items that can have Thorn affixes.
There’s a boss at the end of the dungeon. And since we can’t damage it in any way, there’s just no way to get out of this prologue section. Since we can’t gain any items that have Thorns on them and since we can’t get to level 8 to learn Outburst for the Barbarian, unfortunately, this run ends before can even start walking. And this was done with a character that has the plus 68 stats from the Altars of Lilith increasing her overall armor, which would have made this even easier.

So, we know a brand new character won’t be able to get past the prologue. But what about a second character that is inheriting the skill points because of a previous character’s Renown?
This will easily allow us to start building Thorns on our Barbarian and get past the prologue and it was working. Bosses were getting cleared even if it was taking 10 minutes to chip their health bars down. And they will also drop some Diablo 4 Gold and items.
Unfortunately, our next roadblock came towards the end of Act 1 while pursuing Lilith in the central chamber where we have to destroy these Tumors of Hatred to get to the next area.
In Diablo 2, to get past doors or these kinds of obstacles, normally enemies can attack them. But in Diablo 4 there is none to be found in this area. We even have to leap from one platform to another, making it impossible for an enemy to follow us, even if one were to come all the way down here.
So, even with the Renown, this is where our pacifist run comes to an end. But even though the run stopped, there I did keep going all the way through Act 1 and was able to beat the boss without attacking.
So, if we did tweak the rule again, possibly the game could be completed without attacking other enemies.

First of all, you have to admit that Diablo 4 is a single-player game in every sense of the word. Although the developers have tried the concept of an open world before, they have basically failed. Because open world related activities such as World Bosses are still in a terrible state, especially when your character’s damage is compressed and you can only deal a fraction of the normal damage.
Although there are currently solutions to this problem, I believe that the poor experience caused by this absolutely overshadows the fun they brought to players when they first appeared.
In addition to this, there is a bigger joke that every World Boss will be killed in one hit as soon as it appears. The unchallenging content made Diablo 4 lose a lot of players.
Objectively speaking, the open world related content is not completely useless, but they only work in towns, where you can feel the presence of people around you, which makes the world more vivid. However, when it comes to combat, the open world completely fails because the power difference between two random players is huge. Pay to win also makes players who continue to spend time leveling feel meaningless.
Blood Maiden is also a joke in Helltides, not only because Leeching players’ thirst for Exquisite Blood makes challenging bosses just a tedious process of farming Diablo 4 Items, but more importantly, the difficulty setting is meaningless. Usually, Blood Maiden is either killed in one hit by some well-equipped players, or is too difficult for leveled players and takes a long time to kill.
You could say that the content they planned is not outdoor, not open world group play, but raids, so that you can choose your team to overcome these obstacles. The fact that you can choose your team for challenging Torment Bosses is also a joke. Because then people will only farm them for Uniques and Mythic Uniques that drop from those bosses, not because they like 5 seconds of soulless boss fights.
Let’s give the developers a chance and let’s assume that they can handle the balance of difficulty and boss health well in the new Diablo 4 DLC. But I am almost sure that there will be problems with the visibility of boss abilities.

Imagine how bad it would be if other players’ spells were 3-4 times more effective, and you had no idea. While the game could suppress other players’ abilities to make them less obvious, I honestly don’t have much faith in the developers’ ability to do this well in raids.
Speaking of this, there will definitely be some Diablo fans who will say that if you don’t like Co-Op Dungeons, you can just not play them. However, if they didn’t make Dark Citadel an almost essential node for character development, this would actually be a valid argument.
According to the developers, a new consumable, Scroll of Re-Tempering, was added in Vessel of Hatred DLC, and the primary place to farm them is Dark Citadel Dungeon.
Of course, they will also say that you can get this item from other sources, but I believe that any player who has tried to farm Mythic Unique items will find this to be nonsense. The developers have always said that technically players can also get Mythic Uniques from any monster. But how does this actually work? Aside from Torment Bosses, you have almost no chance of seeing Unique drops.
Besides this, there is another new update that has received a lot of attention, which is Looking for Group feature. Many people call it some kind of savior of random groups, but I am not sure about this. All in all, I think World of WarCraft is a better choice for most players if we want to experience raiding, rather than Diablo 4. Therefore, unless the development team can provide a major improvement compared to the current multiplayer and Co-Op modes, it seems to me that Dark Citadel is likely to fail like Gauntlet.

Glyphs initially have a radius of 3, but when reaching level 15, their range of influence will increase to 4. To maximize the utility of the glyph, it is best to continue to challenge Nightmare Dungeons to accumulate Glyph experience and ensure that your Glyphs are rewarded with a good return.

The just released Diablo 4 Patch 2.0 revealed a lot of major changes to the game, such as a new level cap, a new Paragon system, and some new Rune Word mechanics. When you use Dance of Knives skill, your movement speed will increase by 20%, your dodge chance will increase by 10%, and you will also launch some knives at enemies near you. When the enemy is hit by these knives, it will cause 42% of the weapon damage.
The three variants of Dance of Knives, Enhanced Dance of Knives, Methodical Dance of Knives, and Disciplined Dance of Knives will enhance your additional weapon damage to varying degrees. You can also expect the performance of Rogue Class in the new season or new expansion, just like Druid.
As a Sorcerer whose fundamental skill is Conjuration Skill, the new skill Familiar is also of this type. You can use Familiar to summon a Familiar of the same element as your last skill, which will help you fight for 8 seconds. During this time, it will chase enemies and explode after the countdown ends. Its explosion will deal 40% of its elemental damage to the current area.
You can summon 6 Familiars at a time, but it should be noted that this skill has a 12-second charge cooldown. So be sure to time it well. Enhanced Familiar variant of Familiar can deal with different types of damage to enemies based on their elements. This is great for when you are facing groups of enemies that have different resistances to different types of damage.
In addition, Summoned Familiar variant allows you to gain 3% damage reduction when summoning two or more Familiars of different elements. This greatly improves your survivability, and the order of the elements of Familiar will also change: Fire to Cold, Cold to Lightning, and Lightning to Fire. The third variant, Invoked Familiar, increases all damage types by 10% while these Familiars are active.
