How To Fully Prepare For Diablo 4 Season 1? - Season Of The Malignant Details

Jul 10 ,2023 Author: D4gold

Diablo 4 developers released the details of Season 1 not long ago, called "Season of the Malignant." With Lilith defeated, her evilness begins to dissipate. However, this has brought an additional threat to the world, a festering plague known as a Malignant curse.

We can divide Season 1 into four parts, namely Malignant Hearts, Season Journey, Battle Pass and Season Blessings.

Diablo 4: Season of the Malignant - Everything You Need to Know

Malignant Hearts

From a gameplay standpoint, this curse has the chance to affect Elites, making them stronger Malignant variants. This will happen once you complete Season 1’s campaign. Defeat them and interact with them Malignant Hearts to begin the ritual of resurrecting them into more powerful variants. After defeating them again, you capture their Malignant Hearts, which are like a Caged Heart.

Caged Hearts work similarly to gems. And it can embed them in your gear. But they are more powerful than gems. They will have similar powers to legendary items, sometimes even more powerful.

They will have 32 new Malignant powers. These Malignant Hearts come in four colors: red, blue, yellow and what I call colorless. We can place it in any color socket.

As you might expect from that announcement, Gear can randomly have one of these three base color slots. So if you’re looking for a specific item with a specific color socket, you’re going to have to outsource it.

Now you might think this is all well, but doing random events for the rare chance that a vicious elite will spawn would be boring. That’s why we have Malignant Tunnels.

By dismantling unwanted Malignant Hearts. You’ll get crafting materials that Occultist uses to craft Invokers. These Invokers are used to find specific Malignant Hearts needed for gear.

Season Journey

You must complete a certain number of objectives in each chapter to receive the corresponding reward and move on to the next chapter. Rewards for these chapters include Favor, Diablo 4 Gold drops, and a new Codex of Power exclusive to this season.

Battle Pass

While completing Season Journey objectives, you also need to work towards earning Favor in Battle Pass. Battle Pass has 90 unlockable levels. Battle Pass has a free version and 2 paid versions. The free Battle Pass still gives you access to twenty-seven unlocked contents. The rewards for this content are mostly Smoldering Ashes, which are the currency that unlocks Season Blessings.

Diablo 4: Battle Pass

Premium Battle Pass has 90 rewards and lets you skip 20 levels. Premium Battle Pass rewards include some brand new Horse Skins, Armor and Weapons Transmog, and Smoldering Ashes. As you might expect, some of the most coveted rewards are only available towards the end of Battle Pass. This leads us to the last section, Season Blessings.

Season Blessings

With Smoldering Ashes unlocked through Battle Pass, you can invest them in Season Blessings. These blessings include:

  • Boost XP gain on monster kills
  • Boost Gold gain on selling items
  • Boost drop rate of rare materials
  • Boost duration of Elixirs
  • Boost chance of powerful Malignant Heart drops

Diablo 4: Season Blessings

In a previous announcement, the developers stated that these Blessings will carry over to all characters during the season. The increased chance of Malignant Heart drops, as well as XP gain, seems absolutely optimal to me. Because the whole point of this season is to get a powerful Malignant Heart.

However, you also need an XP boost. Because higher World Tiers will drop a more powerful Malignant Heart. Malignant Heart gets stronger the higher your level. Of course, you can also choose Diablo 4 Boosting Service, which can help you quickly increase your level before Season 1 comes.

How To Prepare For Season 1

Now to the big question, how do you best prepare for Season 1? Some of your progress will carry over. Here’s what you need to do by July 20 to start Season 1 as strong as possible.

Campaign

You need to have completed at least one character’s campaign. This will allow you to skip day one events in Season 1 entirely, allowing you to jump right into seasonal content. Fully explore the entire map and uncover your fog of war.

Diablo 4: How To Prep For Season 1?

Activate All Altars Of Lilith

For a massive power boost for all characters starting in Season 1, you’ll need to uncover the map and activate all Altars of Lilith. As a bonus, your Season 1 characters also get 1.5x Renown per area. So be sure to do this before the season starts for a big power boost.

Re-login Role

Starting July 18th, Season 1 prepared patches will go live. You want to transfer progress to any future new characters. All you need to do is log in once with your current character before starting the seasonal content.

It’s not the most perfect solution, but they really wanted to satisfy players’ expectations for Season 1. Otherwise, we’ll have to wait until Season 2 for a more polished fix.

Personally, I’m just grateful for what we got. I’m really looking forward to Season 1. With all the new abilities and Codex of Power released, I can’t wait to try out some new characters and builds. It would sure be cool to have some fresh content to delve into, especially some challenging endgame material. Go now and get ready for Season 1!
