You can use it to further close the gap between you when approaching the target, or use it to pounce on nearby enemies outside the effect area to avoid the opponent’s attack. In addition, this skill performs well in both offense and defense, and can also help you attach to Treasure Goblins.
The first important core skill is Upheaval, which can damage enemies in a cone in front of you by consuming Fury. To activate it frequently, all you have to do is use your equipment and passive skills to generate as many Furies as possible, so that you can even have a chance to become an AOE powerhouse who survives to the end.
Then you may want to ask how to generate Fury? This leads to the second core skill introduced to you, Shouts. For this skill, you should unlock Rallying Cry and War Cry. The former can increase your movement speed and Fury generation rate, and the latter will increase your damage output.
The ideal way to cooperate between them is to use War Cry to fight elites and bosses when you have prepared many Furies through Rallying Cry. And the cooldown time for Shouts skills is not too long, so you can usually use them multiple times in a big battle.
Additionally, it’s recommended that you unlock Challenging Shout to round out Shouts if you can. While it’s not required, it has the added benefit of reducing the damage you take while the skill is active - although it also draws enemies towards you.

The best weapon type for a Barbarian is undoubtedly a two-handed weapon, which allows you to deal the most damage to enemies when using builds. As for other gear, it is recommended that you focus on looking for types that increase Fury generation, maximum health, movement speed, and Upheaval damage, such as Hellhammer for Upheaval buffs, Banished Lord’s Talisman for Overpower buffs, and Tuskhelm of Joritz the Mighty for Berserking buffs.
While the choice of aspects is relatively free, if you want to maximize your best Upheaval Barbarian build, Bold Chieftain’s Aspect is better because it helps you use Shouts more often. Another aspect you need is Aspect of Sundered Ground, which guarantees that your next Upheaval will suppress the enemy within a 20-second cooldown.
If you want to get a temporary boost in combat, Elixir of Advantage, which can increase your attack speed, is worth considering. Don’t forget the role of gems, such as you can use emeralds in your weapons for critical hits, rubies in your armor for strength, and enhance your armor defense by choosing skulls in jewelry.
