First, if you want to play the exclusive Coven questline for Season 7, you must enter the season as a seasonal character to play it, because unlike Season 5, the new story quests in Season 7 have not yet been added to Eternal Realm. This is mainly because the focus of this season is to unlock new witchcraft powers through seasonal quests, rather than further advancing the overarching story through seasonal content like Season 5.
Therefore, while you can use the Welcome Back Boost to pre-set the build and upgrade your character directly to level 50, this is only suitable for situations where you don’t want to start a new character and just want to play in Eternal Realm. The boost cannot advance your Season 7 progress or strengthen your witchcraft powers.
Although there are some unique quests and new NPCs to meet from time to time throughout Coven questline, their main purpose is just to enrich your seasonal experience. If you want to use this questline to obtain more loot and witchcraft powers or complete the upgrade faster, it is recommended that you actively run Helltides or other related dungeons to farm Whispers.
So once you start Coven questline, aside from completing some quests that advance the story, all you have to do is farm Whispers, return to the relevant NPCs for delivery, and repeat. That’s why you’ll eventually find that the main attraction of Season 7 is the new witchcraft power rather than the narrative of the main story, so don’t expect this quest line to bring you any extra surprises in terms of the storyline.
After opening your Diablo 4 Season 7 map, Whispers icons will appear in the red or blue shaded areas on the map. Hovering over these icons will show the specific challenges and the loot after completing the challenges.
These challenges or quests are usually to kill a specific type of monster in the area, or to find items, escort or protect NPCs, etc. The final reward is 1, 3 or 5 Grim Favors, depending on the difficulty of the quest.
