Diablo 4 Season 3 is the next major content update for the game, and we’ve gathered all the information about the game.

The theme of Season 3 will shift from Vampiric Powers to the new mechanical menace left behind by Zoltun Kulle in Diablo 3. Now we finally have full details on the season in a recent developer update. Here’s everything we know about Diablo 4 Season 3 so far.

Release Date

Season of the Construct will begin on January 23, 2024. This is the first time the season has started directly. We don’t know if this is a plan for future seasonal content or if it’s a one-off.

Mastering This Info Will Help You Get A Head Start In Diablo 4 Season 3! - Season of the Construct Overview

Trailer

The trailer previews the mission players are about to embark on. This is a journey set deep beneath the sands of Kehjistan, where new threats await. It is worth noting that ancient technology created by Zoltun Kulle and Ayuzhan of Caldeum is hidden in Kehjistan’s depths.

This technology is called Loom and has been appropriated by Demon Malphas. They plan to use it to rule Sanctuary. Players can look forward to Ayuzhan leading them on the path to stopping Malphas’ conspiracy.

Details

At present, Diablo 4 developers have confirmed that the downtown Gatehall under the jurisdiction of Kehjistan will form the player’s base of operations this season. Gatehall is the entrance to a dungeon of deadly Vaults, each filled with “elemental Hazards and Constructs”.

Besides being riddled with destructive obstacles, Vaults represents the key to unlocking Loom’s full potential. Players who want to fight Malphas will visit Loom and face the demon in an all-new boss battle.

Similar to previous seasons, starting Season of the Construct questline will require users to create a new character in Seasonal Realm.

Seneschal Companion

Season 3 will introduce a new mechanical companion called Seneschal in the seasonal questline, who will fight alongside you and can be customized to fit your play style.

To further enhance your Seneschal Companion, players will need to use Governing and Tuning Stones found in Vaults.

Governing Stones determine Seneschal’s core abilities. You can equip two of these with your companion at the same time. And Tuning Stones enhance how these abilities work.

There are 27 Tuning Stones, and you can equip 3 of them to each of your Governing Stones for a total of 6 augments. Some of these augmentations work by adding status effects or crowd control to enemies. Other augments are similar to legendary affixes and completely change the way attacks are performed.

New Dungeon: Vaults

As mentioned earlier, Season 3 introduces a new type of dungeon called Vaults. It’s filled with rich rewards. But to get them, you’ll need to fight through hordes of enemies and deadly traps.

According to the developers, even the basic chests in Vaults have been upgraded and will contain better rewards than the chests outside, including better gear and more Diablo 4 Gold.

However, the real prizes in Vaults dungeons are the special Wardwoven Chests, which contain better legendary and sometimes unique gear.

To access these chests, players need to approach and open them while activating a special buff called Zoltun’s Warding. To apply the buff, you’ll also need to get an item called Pearl of Warding and give it to the state of Zoltun Kulle that exists in each dungeon.

The problem is, being damaged by traps or hazards removes this buff and locks you out of Wardwoven Chests. As you get better at these Vaults dungeons, you can start challenging yourself into Wardwoven Chests.

Vaults also have their Nightmare Dungeon equivalent, which you can access via crafted Vault Sigils. These will be more difficult, but also mean better returns can be obtained.

New Overworld Event: Arcane Tremors

Arcane Tremors are a new type of overworld events, like Harvests or Helltides, that occur around the entrance to Vaults. The goal is to collect a certain number of cores through various activities to draw out a powerful elite enemy, Herald of Malphas.

Completing these Arcane Tremors will reward players with the usual gear and D4 Gold, as well as Pearls of Warding. This means that if you want to get the goodies within Wardwoven Chests, you can part take in those events as well.

Helltide Changes

Thanks to the incredibly positive response to Season 2’s Blood Harvest, Helltides will be getting some overhauls for the new season. These changes are mainly focused on frequency.

Back in November 2023, during a campfire chat, the developers announced that Helltides would spawn on the hour every hour. This means there will be no more frustrating waits between them and they should always be on the map.

The purpose of this is to make it easier for players to get various Helltides rewards, especially Forgotten Souls.

Weekly Challenge Dungeons: Gauntlet

Gauntlet is a new challenge dungeon launched in the latter part of Season 3. Dungeon locations, enemy types, and layouts will rotate weekly to keep things fresh.

This is a timed challenge that drops loot upon completion, so players don’t have to waste precious time collecting loot.

It’s important to note that to access Gauntlet, your character must unlock World Tier 4. While level 100 is not required, this could be a boon for players focused on its build mechanics.

Leaderboards

Progress in Gauntlet will be tracked via weekly leaderboards that highlight the scores of the top 1,000 players at each level. These include solo groups of five professions and teams of 2-4 players.

Contestants taking part in Gauntlet will also receive different Seals based on their leaderboard position. They appear on the player’s profile to showcase their achievements for the week. But Seals are only decorative.

The top ten players each week will be recorded and added to a permanent leaderboard called Hall of the Ancients.

That’s all the information we know about Diablo 4 Season 3 so far. As time goes by, the new season is coming soon. Let us look forward to the new Construct journey!
