Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Class Tier List | Sorcerer Dominates Pit 150, Druid struggles at the Bottom

May 09, 2026 Author: D4gold

Dear players, if you're looking for a stronger class in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred, then you might need a class strength ranking. This will also help you better understand the current gameplay of these classes and choose one that suits you better. The tier list is as follows:

  • Tier S: Sorcerer, Barbarian
  • Tier A: Necromancer, Warlock
  • Tier B: Paladin, Rogue
  • Tier C: Spiritborn, Druid

First, we need to clarify that these rankings are primarily based on the number of times The Pit is cleared, mainstream playstyles, and the overall performance of the class. The strength of some classes may fluctuate because of bugs; the rankings are based on performance under normal playstyles.

Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Class Tier List | Sorcerer Dominates Pit 150, Druid struggles at the Bottom

Tier C

Druid

Druid currently ranks at the bottom of all classes with a highest The Pit clear level of 122. Its clear levels for other mainstream playstyles are far behind, making the start of the game very difficult.

The most recognized Druid playstyle this season is Companion Druid, which relies on a set bonus to summon wolves and, with the help of Diablo 4 items, transforms the wolves into lightning wolves.

While Druid features some innovative mechanics, compared to other classes that have undergone mechanic overhauls and gameplay leaps, it lacks substantial novelty, resulting in both low player numbers and bottom-ranking ability in terms of clearing high-level content.

Spiritborn

Spiritborn currently ranks seventh with a highest Pit level of 125, slightly higher than the bottom-ranked Druid, but its overall popularity and strength are still far inferior to the top-ranked classes.

The mainstream gameplay for this class revolves around a swarm-based speed-clearing strategy built around high evasive and poison-based damage over time, resulting in very fast map clearing.

However, as a class from the previous expansion, its core mechanics and common strategies have become overly familiar to players, and the novelty brought by Warlock, Paladin, and the significantly reworked older classes this season makes it less appealing.

Tier B

Rogue

Rogue's highest Pit level under normal gameplay is 127, but this data, which should be the focus of discussion, has been overshadowed by two serious bugs.

Rogue once exploited a bug in Shadow Clone to clear 150 floors in 30 seconds, and then used a bug in Unique Charms to create similar abnormal power, prompting an emergency fix and a reset of the leaderboard.

Even after removing the bug factor, Rogue's Penetrating Shot build still possesses extremely high burst potential. One player has reportedly dealt 175 trillion damage. Skills like Dance of Knives also bring a lot of freshness to the class. Therefore, his 6th place ranking is a result of the fixes and a return to more rationality.

Paladin

Paladin's current highest Pit level is 128. This is primarily because of Shield of Retribution Thorns Paladin build. However, there are also Blessed Hammer, Wing Strikes, and many other effective builds. The class boasts exceptional build diversity.

Originally, players generally expected Paladin to consistently rank in the top two, but the development team may have nerfed him significantly to prevent him from becoming too overpowered, resulting in his damage ceiling being noticeably lower than the top three.

Despite this, Paladin maintains high player popularity thanks to its solid class appeal, diverse gameplay options, and smooth speed-farming experience.

Tier A

Warlock

As one of the new classes in Lord of Hatred, Warlock can reach a maximum Pit level of 132, but its ranking is lower than expected. This isn't because of insufficient damage, but significant issues with its class design.

Specifically, its dazzling skill effects severely obstruct the screen view, easily leading to instant death. Furthermore, its dual resource system—manipulation resources and summoning resources—has inherent contradictions.

In addition, most builds are slow to start, making the sixth skill slot ineffective. Therefore, while Warlock's strength is decent, the overall experience requires significant optimization, resulting in Tier A.

Necromancer

Necromancer received a significant buff this season, reaching a maximum Pit level of 135. In-game leaderboards even showed a Pit level of 140.

His core gameplay, Bloodwave, has been reworked into a core skill that consumes Essence and has no cooldown, completely abandoning the clunky method of refilling Bloodwave.

Meanwhile, Necromancer has also received a highly mobile, speed-farming version. Skills like Skeletal Warriors, Iron Maiden, and Bone Prison have also received new attribute tags, resulting in unprecedentedly rich gameplay combinations.

Necromancer's class immersion and freshness have reached new heights, but the gap between him and the second-place finisher remains significant, and there are large build gaps after the top few.

Tier S

Barbarian

Barbarian's normal gameplay reaches a maximum Pit level of 137. His overall strength is very stable, without any serious bugs or reliance on abnormal mechanics.

When pushing high Pit levels, Barbarian needs to switch to a ranged kiting style, relying on a full skill set with minimal cooldowns to survive, constantly shouting and summoning.

In the mid-to-high levels around level 130, players can still enjoy classic builds like Whirlwind or Hammer of the Ancients.

Like Paladin, Barbarian also boasts multiple effective builds, offering extremely high playability and solidly earning its place as the second-best.

Sorcerer

Sorcerer has demonstrated all-around dominance this season, reaching a maximum Pit level of 150, 10 to 15 levels higher than the second-best. This gap is almost precipitous in high-level Pits.

His strength lies primarily in three aspects:

  1. Incredible damage: Can solo and instantly kill Mephisto, ignoring mechanics;
  2. Extreme mobility: Amazing movement speed and extremely high efficiency in clearing mobs with lightning;
  3. Incredible survivability: Through Crackling Energy combined with Flame Shield, Flame Shield can be used without cooldown, making him nearly invincible.

Almost any lightning-related build can reach top-tier strength, making Sorcerer not only the strongest class this season but also the most well-rounded.

In conclusion, choose the class based on your specific goals. Hopefully, this list will be helpful in Diablo 4!
