Diablo 4 BlizzCon 2026 Schedule Revealed | New Region and Expansion Rumors Explained

Sep 03, 2026 Author: D4gold

2026 BlizzCon will open on September 12, with major announcements expected for Overwatch, World of Warcraft, and other major titles. For Diablo series players, the event is also highly anticipated.

In Diablo 4 Season 15, the official team explicitly stated that some content had been intentionally kept hidden. At Gamescom 2026, they also revealed a collaboration with The Witcher 3. That is certainly part of the surprise, but it is unlikely to be everything, as that alone would not be enough to support an entire expansion.

The official 2026 BlizzCon schedule has now been revealed, while a map suspected to be from Diablo 4 has also leaked. This could indicate that the official team is working on a new region. Let's take a look at what has been revealed.

Diablo 4 BlizzCon 2026 Schedule Revealed | New Region and Expansion Rumors Explained

Major Announcements Confirmed by The Official Team

The official team has clearly stated that major news will be brought to Diablo fans at this year's convention.

2026 marks the 30th anniversary of Diablo series. In the official Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight video, the team already hinted that something exciting enough to drive players wild would be revealed at BlizzCon. This time, the event should avoid another awkward situation like BlizzCon 2018.

In addition, an August PTR blog post stated that some of the features planned for Season 15 may look different from what players eventually see, and that this was intentional.

The official team also has more content to share at BlizzCon. They did not want all of Diablo 4 Season 15 content to be revealed before they had the opportunity to discuss it.

Taken together, these details strongly suggest that Diablo 4 team has high expectations for its BlizzCon presentation. This is clearly not going to be a small-scale update.

2026 BlizzCon Schedule

2026 BlizzCon Schedule

A 2026 BlizzCon schedule previously leaked on 4chan, but many details were later shown to be inconsistent with the schedule officially released by the event organizers.

If you are following 2026 BlizzCon, you can check the official Know Before You Go guide, which contains the actual schedule.

The opening ceremony for 2026 BlizzCon is officially scheduled for 10:30 AM Pacific Time in Hall D, rather than the leaked 11:00 AM start time.

The official schedule confirms that a Diablo Developer Update will be held on Main Stage as one of the seven convention panels.

In addition, a panel titled 30 Years of Battle.net will officially take place on September 13, with CD Projekt Red confirmed to be attending. This is undoubtedly intended to provide a closer look at Geralt skin.

The first day's schedule even includes two Diablo-related events. One is a 45-minute Diablo: Developer Update, although its description remains quite vague.

The other is The Art of Darkness: Behind Diablo IV's Cinematics, which focuses specifically on Diablo IV's cinematics. This could potentially mean that an opening cinematic for a future expansion will premiere during the event.

The real highlight will have to wait until September 13, when Diablo IV: What's Next takes place. Its description refers to 30 Years of Darkness and includes content previews, feature previews, and everything coming next. Clearly, this is where the biggest announcement is likely to be hidden.

For players worried that Diablo Immortal might take up too much of the event, there is little reason for concern.

The space allocated to Diablo Immortal is considerably smaller than Diablo 4 playable demo area. The latter is much more spacious, suggesting that more substantial hands-on content may be prepared for the event. In addition, no live Q&A sessions have been scheduled for any game this year, presumably to avoid the uncontrolled situations seen at previous conventions.

New Region Leak

Diablo 4 New Region Leak Duncraig and Kingsport

Another screenshot currently circulating online is believed to show a new region in Diablo 4. It contains already-drawn dungeons, war-planning markers, and other elements, making the area look less like a rough concept sketch and more like an environment approaching completion. This may indicate a new expansion, including new Diablo 4 items, classes, explorable areas, and even Lair Bosses.

The original image came from a Brazilian content creator. The screenshot appears to show an unrevealed Western Continent containing two clearly identifiable locations: Duncraig and Kingsport.

Duncraig is described as a town in Kingdom of Westmarch, located near Kingsport and Bramwell, with Castle Cyrangar situated in the western part of the town.

Kingsport, meanwhile, is a massive port city known for its merchant fleet and strongly scented fishing nets. Its noble district sits alongside rapidly expanding slums, while the thieves' guild and merchants' guild fight for territory in the shadows of its narrow streets.

According to Diablo's world map, the western region remains unexplored. The Skovos Isles introduced with Lord of Hatred expansion appear to occupy only a small portion of the lower-right area of this map.

The authenticity of the map has not been officially confirmed. The distance between Western Continent and the main continent also differs from the actual terrain shown in the game. It may therefore represent only part of a future expansion plan rather than indicate that the entire region will become accessible at once.

All of these signs suggest that 2026 BlizzCon may have a major surprise in store for Diablo 4 players. If you plan to follow the event, remember to link your Twitch account to your Battle.net account and watch Diablo content creators' livestreams between September 12 and September 15 to unlock in-game rewards.
