The familiar Diablo 4 experience has undergone a radical transformation. Blizzard’s extensive list of upcoming changes, set to debut with its next season and persisting into the future, touches nearly every aspect of the game. It’s as if a new game has emerged, cloaked in the guise of the one released less than a year ago.
Whether you lost interest early on or remained dedicated until now, Diablo 4 Season 4—set to launch on May 14—will redefine the process of character creation and evolution into formidable demon slayers. While a comprehensive list of updates will be revealed in Blizzard’s forthcoming patch notes, some of these changes may appear deceptively modest at first glance.
Outlined below are the five most significant alterations that will fundamentally alter your Diablo 4 experience. These changes will be available for playtesting on a PTR starting April 2.
Reaching Level 50 signifies the commencement of Diablo 4’s endgame, as it’s when your gear and build should begin to coalesce.
At this stage, your aim is to conquer the Capstone Dungeon and vanquish its boss to ascend to the next World Tier, where greater XP and superior loot await. While it already takes only a few hours to reach this milestone, the upcoming season promises even swifter progression.
During the recent stream, Associate Game Director Joe Piepiora briefly outlined Blizzard’s plans to enhance XP gains across World Tier difficulties. In the upcoming season, the XP bonuses for each World Tier will be as follows:
While one could calculate XP rates per hour, the specifics are less relevant: Blizzard is evidently intent on propelling players into higher World Tiers swiftly, facilitating earlier access to its new endgame crafting systems. This benefits players seeking more potent loot drops without the need for weeks of level grinding.

The impactful effects found on Legendary items, known as aspects, such as the one that causes sorcerers’ Ball Lightning to orbit around them, can significantly shape a build.
In Diablo 4’s initial aspect system, players were compelled to store Legendary items or their extracted aspects in their stash in order to transfer them onto new gear. Thankfully, this cumbersome process is now a thing of the past.
In Season 4, not only will gear replacements occur less frequently, but Legendary aspects will now permanently reside within your Codex of Power menu, valid for the duration of the season. Most aspects can randomly generate numerical values that determine the potency of the bonus, such as “Basic Skills gain 15 to 30% Attack Speed.” As you discover Legendary items with higher rolls of the aspect, salvaging them at the blacksmith will permanently increase the corresponding number in your Codex of Power. This allows you to imprint that aspect onto other gear pieces as desired, without the need to retain anything in your stash.
The risk associated with using a perfectly rolled aspect on a mediocre item will be eliminated, making it much easier to experiment with different combinations. It appears that Blizzard has streamlined this system to allow players to concentrate on Tempering and Masterworking Diablo 4 Items in the later stages of the game, where the core of item crafting lies.
The quantity of redundant item drops in Diablo 4 is set to decrease significantly.
Blizzard has removed the restrictions on Uniques, allowing them to drop in World Tiers 1 and 2, while Uber Uniques can now even drop from level 55 or higher monsters. For instance, a Necromancer might chance upon the Black River scythe, triggering devastating corpse explosions, before reaching level 50. This means that thrilling builds relying on potent Uniques no longer have to wait until deep into the endgame.
Moreover, changes to item power, one of Diablo 4’s somewhat perplexing statistics, will render loot more meaningful. It’s disheartening to come across gear with feeble stats due to its low item power, especially as it becomes irrelevant for certain gear types over time. In Season 4, item power is being standardized to the extent that it becomes a non-issue.
Gear with maximum item power (925) will consistently drop from level 95 or higher monsters. Consequently, by approximately level 80, when you’re comfortably tackling Nightmare Dungeons in World Tier 4, item power becomes inconsequential. Instead, your focus will shift solely to evaluating the actual stats on the gear and determining whether they warrant upgrades.
Diablo 4 introduces two innovative crafting systems—Tempering and Masterworking—that empower players to customize their items with specific stats.
Whether it's enhancing movement speed or incorporating class-specific attributes, such as granting a chance for a Necromancer's Bone Splinters to cast twice, your items will now reflect the stats that are most significant to your playstyle. While this may not initially seem groundbreaking, it dramatically expands the range of potential builds available.
Previously, Diablo 4's items constrained players to universally beneficial stats like cooldown reduction and critical strike chance, leading to certain builds dominating the meta. However, with the introduction of the new crafting systems, players have the freedom to choose which stats to prioritize and to what extent. For instance, a Rogue focusing on mobility, cooldown reduction, and grenade damage could heavily invest in stun grenades, leveraging an aspect that triggers them whenever evading—an approach that would have previously been dismissed. Similarly, Druids may now have the opportunity to excel with a viable minion build.
The flexibility afforded by these customizable stat choices brings Diablo 4 closer to Last Epoch, a game renowned for its extensive variety of viable builds. Even if players opt to follow a build guide, it will take considerable time to craft the theoretically "best" items, prompting them to weigh their personal preferences for stats along the journey. If executed successfully, Diablo 4 has the potential to become one of the most accessible action RPGs available.
Blizzard's announcement of the new endgame dungeons in Season 4 was anything but subtle.
These dungeons, named The Pit of the Artificer, closely resemble Diablo 3's greater rifts: timed challenges that escalate in difficulty as you progress through tiers. The objective is akin to Nightmare Dungeons, emphasizing speed to reach the end for the chance of rare loot and materials. With over 100 tiers featuring increasingly formidable adversaries, the quality of loot improves as you ascend to higher levels.
Within The Pit, dungeons will yield items to summon "Tormented" bosses, who, upon defeat, drop materials for crafting an Uber Unique item of your choosing on your first kill. Additionally, the introduction of Andariel to the roster of normal bosses ensures players won't be locked into repetitively battling Duriel to obtain the rarest items in the game.
While Season 4's new endgame activities may not entirely address the issue of diminishing challenge in the open world over time, they inject much-needed variety into an area of the game that was stagnating. Moreover, with details still forthcoming about the season-specific features, it lays a promising foundation for revitalizing a segment of the game that had begun to feel monotonous.
In Diablo 4, there are not only a variety of ways to obtain gear, but also a variety of mechanisms to continue to improve the role of gear. Only when your gear is getting better and better, your builds and even characters can be strong enough to cope with the endgame.
In Season 9, the endgame content worth challenging mainly includes challenging lair bosses, Infernal Hordes, Pit of the Artificer, and two new dungeons. The ways to optimize gear are mainly Tempering and Masterworking.
Among them, the operating principle of Masterworking is to upgrade by consuming related materials to make the affix effect of gear stronger. However, as the progress deepens, the affix that can be enhanced is random, which may lead to unsatisfactory results of your gear enhancement.
So is this mechanism still worth utilizing in Season 9? We will introduce it to you.
Masterworking is an endgame crafting system in Diablo 4 that increases the value of existing affixes on specific gear through 8-12 separate upgrade levels, which can be performed at the blacksmith. Gear that can be made stronger in this way must be one of the following three types:
Based on this, items below level 800 can only be upgraded to level 8 through Masterworking, and items at level 800 can be upgraded to level 12. If it is below level 750, it is not suitable for Masterworking because the value is not great.
In general, the materials consumed for Masterworking include Diablo 4 gold, Obducite, Veiled Crystal and more, which will vary depending on the type and level of gear, but gold, Veiled Crystal and Obducite are required.
Most events and challenges in the game will drop gold, and the main sources of Obducite farming include:
Veiled Crystal can be obtained through:
Once you have enough materials, each level of Masterworking will increase the effect of all affixes of the item by 5%; every four levels will increase the effect of a random affix of the item by 25% - the required materials include:
It is precisely because of this “random” effect that the deeper Masterworking effect, the greater the risk. If the affix that is enhanced happens to be the least useful for the gear, you will lose a lot.
If you are not satisfied with the random affixes that are enhanced on the item after upgrading to Masterworking level 4, you can also re-roll the dice later by resetting the level.
Open the Blacksmith’s Masterworking tab and select the Reset Masterworking Ranks option to complete the level reset operation. The materials consumed in this process are:
Although the consumption is not small, if the current dice roll result is not good, you’d better reset the level as soon as possible. Of course, subsequent dice rolls are also not guaranteed, but at least you have gotten rid of a poor result.
Alternatively, you can choose to send unused Masterworked gear to the blacksmith for salvage, and all materials consumed when upgrading it except gold will be returned to you 100%.
Typically, a level 800 gear will have a 45% increase in all affixes, and its best affix may be increased by 75%, but if this 75% increase is eventually applied to a garbage affix, it will be a nightmare.
The higher the rarity of the gear, the greater its role in builds, and the more effort you put into it at the time, but a bad Masterworking dice roll result may make everything meaningless.
Although the risk is high, once successful, Masterworking can make your gear sufficient to cope with all endgame content and bosses, and help craft better builds, so this risk is worth taking.
Even if the final effect is not good, you can recover by resetting, although this will consume more of your efforts to farm gold and related materials.
Or, for safety, you can just keep Masterworking level of the gear at level 3 and not try the random dice roll afterwards. But this way, you will lose the opportunity to try to have top-level gear.
In general, although random affix enhancements are annoying, there is a minor possibility of enhancing the strength of your Diablo 4 gear to your surprise. Even if the risk is great, it is recommended that you continue to utilize Masterworking.
The above is the content about Diablo 4 Masterworking introduced to you this time, as well as the relevant suggestions on whether you should continue to utilize it in S9. I hope it will be enlightening and helpful to you. Thank you for reading.
In addition to seasonal content, Diablo 4 sometimes adds some new fixed mechanisms as optimization content for the entire game when updating the season. The closest and most representative one is the lair boss in Season 8.
This mechanism changes Diablo 4 gameplay, which has always required specific summoning materials to fight the relevant endgame boss to a direct challenge, but you must have lair keys to unlock the hoard that provides loot after the boss dies.
After entering Season 9, although you no longer need to kill lair bosses to obtain boss power, they are still the main source of Diablo 4 gold, Unique and Mythic gear. However, it is precisely because of this that not all lair bosses are worth challenging.
Based on this, this time we will introduce you to the bosses that are worth solving first in S9 according to the loot rarity, in order from high to low.
As a boss that returns to the game through D4S8, Belial first appeared in Diablo 3 and was eventually retained in Diablo 4. Although the threat he brings to you may not be as great as the new boss Astaroth in Season 9, he is still the first choice for farming Mythic items.
Although this boss is only at the initiate level, defeating him in Season 9 will give you a chance to obtain two new unique items through his hoard: Druid’s Rotting Lightbringer and Spiritborn’s Balazan’s Maxtlatl.
What’s more gratifying is that due to the low level, it is not difficult to obtain his lair keys or defeat him. It is more reliable if your shadow resistance is high enough.
Urivar has an even higher chance of dropping new unique items for you than Varshan, because his hoard may include Rotting Lightbringer, Balazan’s Maxtlatl, Barbarian’s Hooves of the Mountain God and Rogue’s Deathmask of Nirmitruq at the same time.
But the reason why he ranks behind Varshan is that you can only encounter him if you have Vessel of Hatred DLC, and his battle difficulty will be higher.
During the battle, Urivar will summon knights to continuously shoot fire at you according to the established trajectory, which requires you to have enough fire resistance, otherwise it will be difficult to defeat him.
As one of the classic Diablo 4 bosses, Andariel is still powerful after the game adds the lair boss mechanism and is classified as a greater level, so you can’t take her lightly.
Andariel can provide Season 9 loot including Shroud of False Death, Heir of Perdition, and Harlequin Crest, suitable for all classes. Pincushioned Dolls, which unlock her hoard, are obtained by defeating Lord Zir.
The danger of Andariel’s boss battle is that it includes a long battle line including 3 stages. During this period, she will use various powerful magic attacks. You must try to predict her actions as much as possible while ensuring that your resistance to multiple elements is maximized.
The loot list of this boss in Season 9 is basically the same as Andariel, and the battle process also has 3 stages. The difference is that Duriel is more difficult, so it is better to directly choose Andariel.
In all stages of the battle, Duriel will continue to attack you. Once you are hit, you will be poisoned or unconscious, making it easier to attack again. Therefore, facing Duriel, you must not only have the highest poison resistance, but also be fast and flexible enough to dodge every attack.
This boss is also exclusive to Vessel of Hatred. The challenge difficulty and loot provided are basically the same as Andariel and Duriel, so its priority is below the first two bosses.
Since the source boss of its lair keys is Urivar, if you decide to farm Urivar and get enough Abhorrent Hearts, then challenging Harbinger of Hatred may be a good option.
The main loot provided by this boss is the new unique items Hooves of the Mountain God and Deathmask of Nirmitruq. Its challenge difficulty is not high, and you can deal with it by mastering the boss’s attack pattern, but it is precisely because of this that repeated farming may become boring.
The common point between these two bosses is that they cannot drop new unique items, and the rarity of other loot is also relatively ordinary. Although the difficulty is not high, there is no need to waste time on them.
If your character strength is not enough for the time being, you can farm them to get temporary universal gear, but to be honest, their main role in Season 9 is to provide you with lair keys to unlock hoards of other bosses.
Only by obtaining enough corresponding lair keys can you get the final reward through lair bosses in Diablo 4, and different lair key drop channels are also different.
That’s the best order to challenge lair bosses in Diablo 4 Season 9, along with other information you should know. Thank you for reading.
In addition to the newly available Horadric Spells, the biggest highlight of Diablo 4 Season 9 should be Escalating Nightmares and the miniature dungeons Horadric Strongrooms hidden in them through related affixes.
Among them, Horadric Spells are the main gold farming assistant, the two new dungeons are the best sources of Diablo 4 gold in Season 9, and Horadric Strongrooms can also help you get more Horadric Arcana.
But to fully clear Horadric Strongrooms to maximize its value, you need to master some additional and more targeted tips instead of treating it as a regular Diablo 4 dungeon. Based on this, we will bring you relevant help.
First, to enter the dungeon, you need to get Nightmare Sigils with the associated affix to unlock Escalating Nightmares, and then follow the direction of Horadric Wayfinder to find the portal to Horadric Strongrooms.
There are usually guards at the portal, defeat them and choose Horadric Pillar buffs to continue to explore Horadric Strongrooms. After that, all you have to do is kill enemies to collect more attunement, so that the quality of the chests you finally get is better.
So, in fact, improving the clearing of Horadric Strongrooms is how to increase the attunement value you can get, which is closely related to your combat efficiency.
This choice is related to what benefits you can get in Horadric Strongrooms, and it cannot be changed later, so you must treat it carefully, especially those pillars that provide both benefits and disadvantages.
Generally speaking, if you can, it is recommended that you give priority to those pillars that only provide benefits. Although the benefits from the pillars which have both of buffs & debuffs may be better, they will also bring more dangers and cause additional losses.
Based on this, pillars that increase the frequency of enemy appearances or bring more Swiftness Motes will be the safest choice. They allow you to kill more enemies faster, farm a large amount of attunement in a short period of time, and these pillars have almost no negative effects.
In addition to Horadric Pillar, you will also encounter interactive shrines in dungeons. They work similarly to pillars, but the difference is that pillars provide you with additional benefits besides spawning enemies, while shrines can only increase the number of enemies.
If the pillars in Strongrooms you have currently unlocked provide wonderful benefits, then it is recommended that you don’t pay too much attention to shrines. Otherwise, you can consider activating shrines as appropriate.
If the first two tips are about the enemy settings, then the next thing you need to consider is the improvement of your own strength - the stronger your character is, the more enemies you can kill in the specified time and range.
Unless you are very good at playing a certain class, we recommend that you choose to play classes with additional advantages in advance in any Diablo 4 season based on the PTR or other information.
For Season 9, Sorcerer, Spiritborn, or the 2.3.1 patch-enhanced Barbarian are all good. On this basis, the following builds should play a greater role in Horadric Strongrooms:
S Tier
A Tier
B Tier
Among them, the reason why S tier builds are the top builds for clearing Strongrooms is mainly because they all have powerful AOE damage characteristics, which can clear a large number of enemies faster and allow you to gain more attunement.
As you know, the game difficulty levels of Diablo 4 include Standard and Torment, each of which includes 4 levels. Although you can enter Horadric Strongrooms at any difficulty, it is true that the dungeons above Torment 3 are the most valuable.
Because only when you enter the dungeon at Torment 3 or 4 difficulty, the available Horadric Pillars may spawn an additional demon boss with Tier 3 attunement, which can be defeated to gain a large amount of attunement.
This boss may be an elite enemy or a Butcher that appears randomly in the dungeon. Although it is more challenging, more attunement means that everything is worth it.
In the process of clearing the dungeon, you will get regular rewards such as gold, as well as special Horadric Arcanas and attunement.
More Arcana can enrich your Horadric Spells and builds, and enough attunement can improve the quality of Grand Horadric Cache you finally get.
After opening this cache, you will get Horadric Phials and Horadric Tomes, which will help you upgrade spells and craft Horadric Jewels, giving your Season 9 character more combat benefits.
If you haven’t obtained all Arcanas yet, or are short of basic resources such as gold, please follow the above suggestions to clear more Horadric Strongrooms as soon as possible! Good luck!
As you know, Diablo 4 will launch a new season every 2-3 months. Each season has its own new main storyline and related tasks (complete the tasks to advance the storyline), in addition to a series of seasonal mechanisms that can only be experienced in the current season.
For you personally, you may feel that this season is “over” after completing all the main content, but in fact, to truly experience all the seasonal mechanisms, you need to continue to invest more time.
In addition, each season the game will launch new welfare systems such as seasonal journey and seasonal blessings. You need to utilize new gameplay and build more battles to obtain the rewards brought by these systems to avoid waste.
In this way, you will inevitably have a question, that is, after completing the main content, what methods should be used to fully utilize the gameplay and rewards of the current season until the next season arrives?
Next, we will recommend you a few good ways to continue killing time in Diablo 4 Season 9 for this content.
Compared to other ARPGs of the same type, Diablo 4’s PVP gameplay seems to be relatively easy to be ignored, probably because the game has a rich number of PVE dungeons and events, and the team experience is also very good.
But in fact, the game’s PVP mode is also worth trying, especially when you are tired of the classic PVE content. Winning in PVP can not only get Diablo 4 gold and PVP gear, but also understand your shortcomings and continue to strengthen your character.
Generally speaking, the best zone to start PVP battles in Diablo 4 is Fields of Hatred. In addition to regular drops, you can also earn zone-specific currency Red Dust by winning PVP battles to exchange for exclusive mounts and mount armor.
Whether you decide to shift your focus to PVP gameplay or continue to farm resources in PVE events, the utilization of builds is a key factor in determining your win rate and the amount of rewards you get.
A build is composed of your class skills and multiple types of items, so there are countless combinations and ways to play it. Even if the build you use at the beginning of Season 9 is enough to support you to complete the main story, it may not help you complete all the seasonal goals.
Therefore, if you want to complete your seasonal journey and seasonal blessings before the end of the season, and expand your Paragon board by exploring more levels of The Pit as much as possible, you should continue to farm more gear or runes and other items.
The more and rarer items you get, the more possibilities you will have for crafting builds, and in the process of farming, you will also understand what kind of skill rotation + gear combination can optimize builds through combat experience.
In fact, this accumulation of builds crafting experience will not only help you complete Season 9 and get rewards, but also enable you to gain combat advantages faster in the next season or DLC.
As you progress deeper into the season and strengthen your character, you will tend to farm more rare gear, especially Mythics, which are one of the best assistants for you to optimize builds.
Although you may give up working on gear of this type because it cannot be carried over to the next season, all Season 9 Mythics you get can be used in Eternal Realm, making your farming experience in this realm easier.
Since Diablo 4 does not have a class conversion mechanism, you cannot experience the gameplay of different classes with the same character, but can only create new characters to choose new classes.
In order not to delay your main line progress, it is generally not recommended to create multiple characters at the beginning, because this will distract your attention, and in the end each character will not be strong enough, but you will not be able to get truly useful character experience.
But if you have completed the main line and other major content of Season 9 with the current character, you can create a new character according to your preferences, and complete the same seasonal events in different forms through related skills and builds.
In addition, if you get new Mythics through the previous suggestion, they can not only be saved to Eternal Realm, but also stored in your Seasonal Realm stash, allowing all your characters in the current season to utilize.
It should be noted here that Diablo 4 also has a hardcore gameplay, which is different from the character stash between the normal mode. The suggestions we give are all for the normal mode.
If you plan to give yourself a “vacation” before the next season arrives, instead of playing all the time, you may want to know when to start your vacation.
In addition to ensuring that all the main content of the season is completed, you can first use the completion of the seasonal journey as a reference standard. You need to get enough Smoldering Ashes in Season 9 to unlock all seasonal journey objectives rewards.
The second is to explore as many The Pit as possible. This dungeon has a total of 150 floors. Completing all floors and killing the pinnacle lair boss Belial will also allow your character’s Paragon level to reach the maximum level.
But to be honest, this is difficult to do, so if you want to take a break after completing the main line and seasonal journey, you can do it at any time. If you want to continue to struggle, please follow our suggestions!
Among the various types of Diablo 4 battles, boss battles are probably the most dangerous but also the most rewarding. Although the amount of loot they provide may not be comparable to various dungeons, the rarity is definitely higher.
For Season 9, except for the newly added Astaroth boss, you have already fought other bosses many times in the past seasons. However, since various mechanisms are adjusted almost every season, you can’t continue to apply the same tactics in S9.
In order to ensure that you can survive Season 9 boss battle as much as possible, this time we will bring you an updated Uber Lilith, also known as Echo of Lilith’s boss battle strategy.
The unlocking conditions of this boss battle require you to obtain Echo of Hatred quest in the quest log. The end of the dungeon represented by this quest is where Uber Lilith is located.
To get this quest, you must first complete all the main storylines of the current season, and then complete Capstone Dungeons so that the game difficulty can be set to world tier 4 (also the most difficult world tier), and then it will be unlocked.
Next you will see the logo of the quest on the map, travel to southwestern Fractured Peaks, and you will find the quest entrance next to Nevesk waypoint.
Entering the dungeon, you can first get Diablo 4 gold or other drops by killing some ordinary enemies. When you reach the end, you will face Lilith.
As one of the most dangerous boss battles in the entire Diablo 4, no matter which season you encounter Uber Lilith, you must be fully prepared before starting the battle.
First, you must make sure that your character level meets this boss battle requirements. If you are already at the maximum level, your Paragon board should be as complete as possible.
You need to craft a strong enough build to utilize in battle according to the class you play. The most important thing is that you’d better add seasonal power Horadric Spells to the build, which can bring benefits to your entire Season 9 journey as an additional help.
If you are not confident in your operation level, you can choose those classes that have an advantage in S9 as the first choice when choosing a class, such as Necromancer or Spiritborn, and make up for your own shortcomings with their outstanding advantages.
When equipping gear, in addition to ensuring that their level and rarity are high enough, it is best that they can also have the effect of targeting Echo of Lilith, especially since the boss battle has actually been adjusted many times after the season change.
At present, Lilith’s damage mechanism is not only deadly in itself, but also may add an effect that can increase damage to all its Blood Orb skills. If you want to successfully avoid Lilith’s Blood or Void Orbs, you need to ensure that the movement speed is high enough.
Therefore, when choosing gear, please first pay attention to those boots or amulets with movement speed affixes, such as boots with Tumbling implicit modifier, which can give you 100% movement speed after you dodge for one second.
In addition, defensive skills with immune effects such as Flame Shield can help you get out of trouble, and Elixir of Shadow Resistance II can further improve your defense, because Lilith’s main damage type is shadow damage.
Although you can challenge this boss when the difficulty is World Tier 4, but if you want to get better drops, it is best to start the battle in Torment 1.
This boss battle is divided into two phases. At the beginning of each phase, Echo of Lilith is full of health, but the coping strategy is different.
Throughout Phase 1, the boss will continuously release Blood Blisters and generate Blood Orbs around it, or wave abilities like Double Waves or Triple Waves. You need to make sure you are at the edge of the boss’s attack range to avoid these attacks.
Near the end of this phase, Lilith will summon Oppressors to assist her. Fortunately, these enemies are not difficult to deal with, so you should be able to transition to Phase 2 relatively smoothly.
As soon as this phase begins, the boss will immediately create 4 Blood Pools and continue to generate Blood Orbs that will debuff you. Keep alert and avoid them.
Next, Lilith will begin to destroy different parts of the boss’s platform. As she begins to destroy, you must stay on the platform until Blood Veins penetrate the remaining intact parts of the platform.
Once you see Blood Veins disappear, quickly move away from the platform that is about to be destroyed. The boss will then pull you towards her after the platform is destroyed, so be sure to pay attention to her movements.
As each part of the platform is destroyed, you will continue to reduce the boss’s health until everything is “zero”, and you have succeeded!
When you defeat this boss for the first time in Season 9, you will receive a Resplendent Spark. In addition to the usual gold and common items, Lilith can also drop Reins of the Bloody Liquid Steed - this is the only way to drop this mount.
That’s all about fighting Uber Lilith in Season 9. If you haven’t encountered her yet, this guide should help you be more prepared!
Although some people always complain that Diablo 4’s seasonal content lacks creativity, for loyal players, it is also fun to repeatedly explore Sanctuary with the help of different seasonal powers.
In Season 9, you can get Diablo 4 gold and seasonal power Horadric Spells by working hard to clear new dungeons, and use them to strengthen yourself to deal with more difficult content. But this also requires you to invest a lot of time and experience.
In order to allow you to get more items through other easy ways while doing this more difficult Season 9 resource farming, Diablo 4 recently launched a new event Gift of the Tree based on Tree of Whispers.
So what benefits can this event bring, and how to participate? We will introduce it to you.
Gift of the Tree officially started around July 16 (the exact time varies depending on your time zone) and will last until 1pm on the 22nd, which is not a long time. So if you want to make full use of it, you must hurry up.
As a buff event, Gift of the Tree mainly allows you to get an extra Chaos Cache when you complete Tree of Whispers bounty task and hand in a group of ten Grim Favors to exchange for random cache rewards, so as to get more loot.
This buff effect not only looks sacred in appearance - a white tree, but also makes you feel “blessed by God” in practice, because Chaos Cache can open any type of item, whether it is ordinary gold or rare Ancestral items.
It is worth noting that there is a player achievement in Diablo 4 that can be completed, which is Chaotic Whispers achievement that can be unlocked by obtaining 10 Chaos Caches. If you haven’t got it yet, Gift of the Tree period is definitely the best time.
In fact, the completion of this event is completely based on Tree of Whispers event, so your main task is to complete the bounty tasks issued by Tree of Whispers step by step, or Whispers.
When you complete the main campaign and interacting with Tree in Hawezar, you can unlock one of the endgame mechanisms, Tree of Whispers. After that, it will release a series of scattered Whispers through the map. The specific task types include:
Generally speaking, the difficulty of these quests is not too high. You will get Grim Favors as a reward for each completed Whisper. When you collect 10, you can bring them back to Tree of Whispers or Raven of the Tree and choose one of the three caches as the final reward.
All Whispers are identified on the map by icons with pink, light pink, and red borders. The darker the color, the more Grim Favors you’ll get from completing that bounty (and the harder it will be, of course):
Since Whispers are scattered all over the map, it’s likely that you’ll complete some of them while completing other quests or challenges, such as killing a certain number of enemies in a certain area.
After that, it’s best to group quests in the same area together as a whole, depending on the requirements of the remaining Whispers, and complete them in a specific time period to improve efficiency.
If your character is powerful enough that you decide to farm quests that provide more Grim Favors, you can complete Helltides directly. The area of this event is not only densely populated with enemies, but also has the best Whispers quest: Defeat Blood Maiden.
The three regular Tree of Whispers caches only give you specific types of gear rewards, but Chaos Cache provided by Gift of the Tree is universal, containing random items from other reward caches, and may even contain rare unique and mythic pieces of gear.

The significance of this event is not only to bring new vitality and rewards to Season 9, but more importantly, to make the regular endgame event of Tree of Whispers attract your attention again, and to avoid the imbalance of participation in different game events as much as possible.
And if you want to focus on farming materials or unique items, Gift of the Tree also provides you with an easier way than clearing dungeons. Especially if you are a new player, you will have the opportunity to complete early resource accumulation faster.
The above is the main information about the participation of Gift of the Tree and the rewards you can get. If you don’t want to miss it, log in to the game and complete the task immediately!
