How To Play One Of The Seasonal Events Apparition Incursions In Diablo 4 Season 8?
Although Diablo 4 Season 8 has not been officially launched, you must be eagerly looking forward to its arrival through the 2.2.0 PTR and other related information! Fortunately, you are getting closer and closer to the release date of the season on April 29.
However, in order to gain an advantage in a short period quickly after the release of Season 8 and enable your new season character to obtain basic boss power as soon as possible, in addition to completing Season 7 battle pass or seasonal journey to obtain all Diablo 4 Gold or other rewards, you also need to understand some gameplay and strategies of Season 8 events in advance. Based on this, we will bring you an introduction to the core season event Apparition Incursions.
What Is Apparition Incursions Event?
Almost every Diablo 4 season has its own season theme, and in order to fully display this theme, sometimes related season powers and events are launched. For the eighth season, it is the boss power and Apparition Incursions event.
Among them, the boss power allows you to obtain their skills by killing 24 bosses of different levels and types provided by Season 8. Each boss can provide 1 main power and 1 modifier power, but you finally choose only one main power and three modifier powers to equip.
But it is worth noting that when you just enter a new season, your character will definitely not be strong enough to challenge those dangerous lair bosses directly. At this time, the 10 Apparition bosses from Apparition Incursions become your best choice to obtain the power of the first wave of bosses. They are:
- Allek’s Talons
- Beastmaster’s Training
- Blackmailer’s Sabotage
- Flesh Reaper’s Disruption
- Hatred’s Embrace’s Haste
- Kirma’s Sparks
- Outlaw Sharpshooter’s Eye
- Sinerat’s Flames
- Skerg’s Toxins
- Torusk’s Rage
These Apparition bosses are actually the minions of Belial, the ultimate boss of Season 8, who brought these dangerous followers into Sanctuary and started to create chaos. What you have to do is to drive them out and take away the power they provide.
How Does This Event Work?
Apparition Incursions will periodically spawn in the open world of Sanctuary. Once the event starts, large groups of enemies will appear around the area, and an event status bar with a timer will appear below the minimap. Killing these enemies will fill up the status bar, eventually prompting Apparition bosses to spawn at the designated Apparition Incursions icon location.
After you encounter the first Apparition boss and kill it, the event’s invasion icon will move to another location in the area, and a new timer status bar will appear - until you fill it up again by killing enough enemies, and the second Apparition boss will spawn. Killing the second Apparition boss will start a countdown until Belial’s secondary form is summoned. If you can kill Belial, the event will spawn a reward chest for you, which means you have completed an Apparition Incursion.
Best Battle Strategy
Since the timer is long enough and the difficulty of enemies other than the boss is low, you can easily fill up the status bar without a group, but just in case, you’ll want to equip some good Diablo 4 items before entering the event. You’ll also need to interact with Betraying Eye as part of the event, but they’re not hard to find.
The final boss of the event, Belial’s secondary form, is more difficult to defeat, but as long as you have good gear and pay attention to avoiding the obvious red void areas that appear on the ground, the V-shaped lines extending from Belial, and any poisonous ground effects during the battle, your chances of survival will be greatly improved.
Apparition Incursions Event Rewards
This should be the part you care about most! In addition to the various Apparition boss powers, you are expected to receive gold, and gear of varying rarities after completing the event. In addition, the reward chest obtained after killing Belial’s secondary form is expected to contain Obols that can be used to upgrade gear.
What Is Spectral Ash?
Obviously, one of the main purposes of participating in and completing Apparition Incursions event is to obtain the powers provided by the bosses in it, so how can you enhance them through upgrades after obtaining these powers? According to the content shown in the 2.2.0 PTR, you can upgrade the boss powers of your equipment with Spectral Ash, a special seasonal currency. And Spectral Ash can upgrade boss power from level 1 to level 20, but the amount consumed is also relatively large. For example, upgrading the power of an Apparition boss requires about 3225 Spectral Ash.
How To Get Spectral Ash?
It is expected that this special currency can only be obtained through Apparition Incursions event, and it may be concentrated through the final Belial battle. Although the first two Apparition bosses can provide boss powers for you, no matter what difficulty you kill them, Spectral Ash dropped is only a negligible 1-2.
Other ways to obtain Spectral Ash should also include killing wandering Apparitions (they appear as red skulls on the mini-map), as well as regular Diablo 4 welfare mechanisms, such as season blessings and seasonal journeys. Or completing seasonal quest lines may also reward you with some Spectral Ash. Although the PTR has not announced or explained this, it is indeed the case based on the performance of previous seasons.
The above is the information and help we can provide you with for playing Apparition Incursions event. I wish you outstanding performance in Diablo 4 Season 8!

Diablo 4 Season 15 Mythic Items Farming Guide | Prime Evil Targets, Lair Bosses, And Crafting
Diablo 4 Season 15 brings back a large number of powerful Unique items, with two of them standing out in particular: Leoric's Crown and Stone of Jordan. Many builds are using them, and they become even stronger in their Mythic versions.
Farming Mythic Items in Season 15 is not particularly difficult. There are many effective methods available, but farming around Prime Evils is the most efficient approach. Here is how you can obtain Mythic Items in Season of Hell's Legacy.
Prime Evil Farming
Prime Evils can be found in special Level 10 dungeons. You need to enter Torment 10 and have enough power to handle them.
Defeating them can drop new Unique items, and these drops have a relatively high chance of becoming Mythic items. They can also directly drop Resplendent Sparks.
You need to enter the following dungeons on Torment 10 or higher to find them:
- Diablo: Located in Tristram Cathedral, with a chance to drop Splinter of Terror.
- Baal: Located at Arreat Summit, with a chance to drop Splinter of Destruction.
- Mephisto: Located in Durance of Hate, with a chance to drop Splinter of Hatred.
Your goal should be to clear them as quickly as possible, especially when completing objectives. Once you receive a prompt such as reaching Baal, ignore all enemies and rush directly toward Baal.
You do not need any consumables or materials to open the chests, and you do not need to prepare materials before entering like you do with Lair Bosses. These targets can be farmed repeatedly without limits.
Primes Pinnacle
You can also challenge all three Prime Evils at the same time. This encounter also requires Hell difficulty, meaning at least Torment 10. The battle is extremely challenging, but ideally you should attempt it on Torment 12 to increase drop chances and other rewards.
This fight introduces new mechanics where the three bosses cooperate and create different beam patterns. You should absolutely avoid letting these beams hit you.
In addition, when you defeat one of them, the other Prime Evils will revive it. This means they essentially share a single health pool, so you need to spread your damage across all three.
You can focus on one boss first to temporarily disable it, then deal with the other two before returning to finish the revived one. However, no matter which strategy you choose, you will need to make sure they all die almost at the same time.
Primes Pinnacle drops a large number of Mythic items, including Mythic Seals and Mythic Charms. Due to its high difficulty, it can be treated as an endgame challenge.
How To Farm Prime Pinnacle?
Challenging all three Prime Evils requires Splinter of Destruction, Splinter of Terror, and Splinter of Hatred. You can collect these materials while farming the three dungeons mentioned above.
Another source of Splinters is limited rewards. At the highest tier of Season Rank Rewards, there are special Caches that contain valuable loot and can also include Splinters.
Once you have Splinters, you simply need to bring them to Cube, place all three inside, and combine them into Wirt's Lucky Coin.
Then head to Old Tristram and throw the coin into the fountain to open a portal.
Defeating the Uber version of Prime Evil can reward you with a large number of Mythic Unique items as well as Hellfire Torch.
Season Rank Rewards
Season Rank Rewards contain Mythic Unique Journey Caches and Resplendent Spark rewards, both of which can directly or indirectly provide you with Unique items.
At the same time, you will also receive a large number of Crux of the False Prophet, which are keys required to open Mephisto's chests.
Mephisto remains the pinnacle battle of the DLC and continues to be an important target for Unique drops, Mythic Unique drops, as well as the potential rewards of Mythic Seals and Charms. In Diablo 4 Season 15 patch note, defeating Echo of Mephisto will guarantee one Mythic item drop.
Therefore, once you obtain Crux of the False Prophet, you can head into Torment 10 or higher and defeat Mephisto to obtain these valuable rewards.
Lair Boss
In Diablo 4 Season 15, Lair Bosses remain a reliable way to farm Diablo 4 items. Although their drops may not be as rewarding as Prime Evils, their difficulty is much lower, making them a good transition option between Torment 1 and Torment 10.
Before farming Lair Bosses, remember to prepare your War Plans. Greater Nemesis, Ultimate Nemesis, and Two by Two nodes can make more Lair Bosses appear without requiring Lair Keys.
Crafting
In Diablo 4 Season 15, you can also directly craft Mythic items.
Upgrade To Mythic
The newly added Horadric Cube recipe in Season 15 allows you to upgrade a perfect Unique item directly into Mythic quality while completely preserving all of its affixes, Tempering, and Masterworking attributes.
Mythic items created through this method will have Crafted tag, and you can only equip one item with this tag at the same time.
Merchant Crafting
The other two methods are classic approaches. You can visit Jeweler and Blacksmith and use Runes or gold along with Resplendent Sparks to randomly craft a Mythic item.
Mythic items created through these methods do not have Crafted tag, meaning you can equip multiple copies. If you obtain unwanted Mythic items, you can salvage them into Resplendent Sparks and craft again for another chance.
In Diablo 4 Season 15, obtaining Mythic items is much easier, at least compared with the previous two Seasons. You have many available options, and each method is effective, allowing you to freely switch between different activities.

Diablo 4 Season 15 Secretly Adds Classic D2 Runeword: How to Craft Them and Which Ones to Watch?
Following the launch of Diablo 4 S15 Season of Hell's Legacy, players quickly discovered that - beyond the inclusion of numerous classic elements celebrating Diablo franchise's 30th anniversary - the season appeared to harbor content that hadn't been revealed in pre-launch promotions.
What first caught players' attention was a crafting recipe that looked very familiar yet lacked any official explanation: placing specific runes and a base white item into Horadric Cube allowed for the creation of the classic Diablo 2 Stealth. Players then began testing other rune combinations based on their Diablo 2 memories, discovering that this wasn't just an isolated Easter egg, but a whole suite of classic runeword content.
Crafting Method
The runeword system in Diablo 4 Season 15 does not exactly replicate Diablo 2 crafting method; this is the most notable difference so far.
While the classic Diablo 2 mechanic involved using socketed gear and inserting runes in a specific order, Diablo 4 runewords discovered so far utilize Horadric Cube. Players must gather the required base white item and the specified runes, then place them inside Cube to perform a Transmute operation.
If the combination is correct, the recipe slot displays a mysterious "???"; clicking Transmute then yields the finished item in the player's inventory. If the recipe is incorrect or the base item type doesn't match, Cube consumes no materials and produces no items.
This means players do not need to hunt for gear with the correct number of pre-existing sockets - as was the case in Diablo 2 - nor do they simply insert runes into standard Diablo 4 gear. The developers retained the core Diablo 2 concept of specific rune combinations creating unique items, but integrated the crafting process into Diablo 4's own crafting system.
This explains why players didn't discover this content immediately. Without recalling the old Diablo 2 recipes or thinking to combine runes with ordinary gear inside Horadric Cube, these hidden recipes could easily go unnoticed.
19 Confirmed Classic Runewords
A total of 19 classic Runewords have been identified so far:
- Ancient's Pledge
- Call to Arms
- Edge
- Enigma
- Grief
- Holy Thunder
- Infinity
- Insight
- King's Grace
- Leaf
- Lore
- Pattern
- Phoenix
- Prudence
- Rain
- Spirit
- Stealth
- Strength
- Zephyr
These names are like old friends to Diablo 2 players; they span the entire progression from early-game staples like Stealth, Leaf, and Lore to the frequently discussed late-game powerhouses like Spirit, Insight, Enigma, and Call to Arms.
It is worth noting that these items in Season 15 are not merely direct ports of the originals. Based on current data, they have been redesigned to feature fixed stats and unique effects.
Two Highly Anticipated Runewords
Stealth: An Early-Game Accelerator
Stealth is the most accessible classic Runeword, requiring only a Tal rune and an Eth rune combined with any white (normal quality) chest armor. Players receive these two runes early on through seasonal quests. While its stats don't rival end-game gear, the movement speed and other basic affixes it provides significantly boost farming efficiency during the early stages of the game.
Enigma: Cross-Class Teleportation
Enigma was one of the most coveted Runewords in Diablo 2 era because it granted every class the ability to teleport. In Diablo 4 Season 15, Enigma continues this legacy.
According to data mined by the community, the core ability of Diablo 4 version of Enigma is replacing the player's Dodge with Sorcerer's Teleport skill, while also providing affixes such as skill ranks, movement speed, and damage reduction. Its recipe is Jah + Ith + Ber; since Jah and Ber are extremely rare high-level runes, the crafting cost is exceptionally high.
Why Do Runewords Excite Players?
Players who didn't experience Diablo 2 era might find it hard to understand why the names of a few old items could suddenly generate such excitement in the community. However, Runewords are actually one of the most iconic design elements of Diablo 2 item system.
The original Runeword system wasn't just about collecting a few runes to trade for a piece of gear. Players must first locate a suitable white-quality base item, verify the number of sockets, gather the corresponding runes, and then socket them in the exact required order.
If the sequence is incorrect, those expensive runes could effectively be reduced to ordinary, lackluster socketables. Conversely, when the base item, socket count, and rune order all align perfectly, a seemingly mundane piece of gear transforms into an item possessing powerful, unique attributes.
The true appeal of this system lies in how it bridges the gap between gear hunting and material gathering. Players cannot simply farm for finished items; they must also strategize - deciding which base items are worth keeping, which runes to hoard, and which Runeword should take priority for their current character build.
Names like Spirit, Insight, Enigma, Infinity, and Grief have become etched in the long-term memories of Diablo II players precisely because they represent more than just individual items; they embody the build philosophies and the specific loot-hunting experiences of that era. Consequently, when the developers bring this classic Diablo II gear culture into the modern Diablo 4 landscape through such an enigmatic method, it naturally evokes a deep sense of nostalgia among players.
Scope of Hidden Content and Future Potential
While the 19 recipes confirmed so far are substantial, community data-mining suggests there may be even more content yet to be uncovered. Players have discovered traces of Hellfire Torch and Annihilus within the game files, leading to speculation that they will function as Charms.
Furthermore, the developers' approach to these classic Runewords is noteworthy: in an era where patch notes often spoil almost every detail, it is refreshing to encounter a system involving at least 19 recipes that requires players to figure things out for themselves. Perhaps this design - allowing secrets to surface organically and inviting players to participate in the process of discovery - is the most fitting way for the developers to celebrate Diablo franchise's 30th anniversary.

Diablo 4 Season 15 SSF Mode Missing? It's Not Your Client | Still Disabled After Hotfix 1
Gamers, if you are planning to create a Solo Self Found (SSF) character for Diablo 4 Season 15 but cannot find the option on the character creation screen, rest assured that the issue does not lie with your game client.
The culprit is a series of technical glitches that occurred upon the launch of Season of Hell's Legacy. While some functionality has since been restored, SSF mode remains disabled; if you wish to play Diablo 4 in SSF mode, you will need to wait a bit longer.
What happened?
Diablo 4 Season 15 was originally scheduled to launch on September 15. Shortly after the launch, a large number of players encountered login difficulties, with error codes appearing across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
These errors prevented some players from accessing the game entirely, while others got stuck during character creation or the rebirth process. For players eager to kick off their season on day one, these unexpected issues disrupted their schedules and made the early-season experience unstable.
In response, the developers released Hotfix 1, primarily aimed at resolving login issues and reopening Seasonal Realm.
In other words, the critical phase where players were completely locked out of the game has passed; players can now create seasonal characters and begin their seasonal journey. However, this does not mean all features have been restored; SSF mode remains unavailable.
What did Hotfix 1 restore?
In short, Hotfix 1 resolved the login failures and reopened Seasonal Realm, allowing players to continue experiencing the content of Diablo 4 Season 15.
For the average seasonal player, this is the most significant restoration, as it at least allows for normal progression through the season.
However, we regret to note that Hotfix 1 notes confirm SSF mode will remain unavailable; the team is investigating the issue and has stated that further information will be shared in a timely manner.
In other words, while the developers acknowledge the issue with SSF mode, they have not provided a timeline for its restoration, nor are there any clear indications that it will be re-enabled in the immediate future.
Impact on players
SSF is a playstyle where players are entirely self-reliant; they do not rely on trading or grouping with others, and they must acquire all their gear, resources, and progression milestones on their own.
It appeals to players who enjoy blazing their own trail, strategizing around loot drops, and crafting character builds. For these players, the pace of progress at the start of a season is crucial; since everyone begins at the same starting line, an earlier start allows for a more complete seasonal experience.
When SSF (Solo Self Found) option vanished from the character creation screen, this group of players was hit the hardest: they could neither experience the solo characters they had planned nor begin Diablo 4 Season 15 under SSF rules.
If you are determined to stick to Solo Self Found experience, you have no choice but to wait for an official fix; if you don't want to wait, your only option is to create a standard seasonal character for the time being.
However, standard seasonal characters and SSF characters operate in different modes; there is no guarantee that existing characters can be directly converted once SSF is restored.
There is currently no public information regarding a conversion mechanism, so playing a standard seasonal character is not without consequences. Whether you accept this depends on how much you value having your character's progress adhere to SSF rules from the very beginning.
Actions You Can Take Now
If you returned to Diablo 4 specifically for SSF mode, you are naturally in a difficult position - unable to create an SSF character and uncertain when the feature will return.
While waiting, you can keep an eye on official announcements and the character creation screen to see if SSF option reappears. However, avoid repeatedly refreshing the page or reinstalling the game; the issue lies with a server-side toggle, not your local client.
Repeated attempts won't speed up the restoration and might lead you to mistakenly believe the problem lies with your network or hardware.
At the same time, be prepared for the fact that the developers haven't provided a restoration timeline, so the wait might not end immediately.
If you really want to play now, you can create a standard seasonal character, but understand that this may only be a temporary experience; you might need to start over once SSF is restored.
That said, standard seasonal players can currently enter Seasonal Realm and progress through Season of Hell's Legacy without interruption, unaffected by SSF issue.
Information to Watch For
Since there is no clear public schedule and the issue is still under investigation, players should be wary of any claims specifying exact hours or dates unless they come from an official source.
Focus primarily on two things: new hotfixes or statements released by the developers, and whether SSF option reappears on the character creation screen.
The appearance of either signal indicates that SSF is likely in the process of being restored or has already been restored.
In short, if you remain determined to play Diablo 4 Season 15 using SSF mode, do not let anxiety drive you to repeatedly attempt ineffective actions; always rely on official information.

Diablo 4 Season 15 Classic Bosses Are Returning in Waking Nightmares: Mechanics, Rewards, and Potential Impact
This Tuesday, September 15th, the highly anticipated Diablo 4 Season 15 finally went live. It not only carries over and refines most of the content promised in 3.2.0 PTR but also delivers a host of unexpected surprises.
These surprises are most evident in the boss encounters. Season 15 not only introduces three bosses, Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto, into the main seasonal questline but also utilizes the unique Waking Nightmares mechanic to recreate classic bosses from across Diablo series that you might have long forgotten.
This timing likely coincides with the 30th anniversary of Diablo series, calling for special celebratory events. So, which bosses will Waking Nightmares bring, and how does the system work? Let's take a look.
How does Waking Nightmares work?
As it stands, Waking Nightmares is an encounter system playable during Diablo 4 Season 15 (it is unclear if it will carry over into future seasons).
The system encompasses three types of encounters, varying in scale and trigger conditions. Their common thread is the random appearance of key bosses and battle scenarios from Diablo series, rendered with modern, refined technology while retaining the distinct style of Diablo 4.
Waking Nightmares Tier 1
The first type of Waking Nightmare is the largest in scale, taking the form of a multi-tiered Capstone Dungeon. It first appears as you progress through Season 15 questline and can be farmed repeatedly once you unlock Torment difficulty.
While the base difficulty of tier 1 Waking Nightmare dungeons is fixed, they also appear as Pinnacle Capstone challenges once you unlock game difficulties above Torment 10; these offer greater rewards, albeit with higher risks.
The boss fights and other encounters within tier 1 are not merely standard skirmishes; they aim to recreate pivotal battles from Diablo's lore. This serves as a perfect nostalgia trip for veterans while helping newcomers gain a deeper understanding of the backstory.
Waking Nightmares Tier 2
This type of Waking Nightmare appears as a standard Diablo 4 dungeon at fixed locations across Sanctuary, serving as a reliable source of Diablo 4 gold during the early stages of the season.
Compared to tier 1, tier 2 dungeons offer more standard difficulty levels and rewards; in terms of encounters, they aim to recreate iconic, if not necessarily pivotal, classic scenes from Diablo series.
Waking Nightmares Tier 3
This is the smallest scale of Diablo 4's Waking Nightmares content. These events spawn randomly as you explore the open world, drawing you into a separate chamber to face a battle led by a boss from the past.
Which bosses have returned?
In their breakdown and response regarding Season of Hell's Legacy, the development team announced that this commemorative season would bring back nearly 20 significant Diablo bosses, led by three key figures from the main storyline.
While Mephisto has already played a major role in LoH narrative, the return of Diablo and Baal comes as a welcome surprise; all three are expected to make appearances in Waking Nightmares as well.
More importantly, these three main bosses bring not only new combat encounters but also mechanics that interact with Soul Splinters, items specific to Season 15. Each boss is linked to a specific type of splinter, which in turn influences other gameplay elements.
Two other returning bosses confirmed to appear are Nihlathak and Maggot Queen.
Nihlathak, who appeared in Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, was a human who struck a sinister bargain with Baal. His Corpse Explosion ability posed a formidable challenge, and you may find yourself facing it once again in Diablo 4.
Maggot Queen is more formally known as Coldworm the Burrower. Although this creature first appeared in Diablo 2, players who have fully experienced Diablo 4 will recognize elements related to her from The Cage of Grief quest.
Beyond just bosses, there are also allies
In any Diablo title, the presence of evil bosses implies the existence of forces for good, such as Leah in Diablo III. She was born to serve as a vessel for Diablo, a fate she ultimately could not escape.
However, at the conclusion of Diablo 3 story, while Leah perished, her body vanished without a trace; the development team has even hinted that her soul might still be wandering somewhere.
Regardless of how Leah or other potential allied NPCs return in Waking Nightmares, they will be pivotal to your success in defeating the bosses.
We speculate that specific heroes may be linked to particular bosses, and that fighting alongside them might require completing prerequisite quests.
Paving the way for Diablo 5
While it may seem premature to discuss Diablo 5, the development team noted during Diablo 4 panel recap that the introduction of Waking Nightmares and Legacy Uniques is not merely a retrospective anniversary celebration; these features are also intended to hint at the future direction of the overarching storyline.
So, even if the mechanic of these returning bosses feels a bit superficial at first glance, it may well be laying the groundwork for a strong opening to Diablo 5. For now, your best bet is to jump into every battle and make the most of your Season 15 experience.
That covers the details of Diablo 4 Waking Nightmares; you'll have to unlock the content in-game to see exactly how it plays out. In any case, have fun!

Diablo 4 Season 15 Class Tier List: Warlock Dominates as Spiritborn Falls Behind
The class balance changes in Diablo 4 Season 15 (Season of Hell's Legacy) are exceptionally extensive compared to previous seasonal updates. For the first time, the developers have utilized core stat scalars as a primary lever for class balancing, simultaneously adjusting the base damage coefficients for all eight classes.
This means the current round of balancing goes beyond simple numerical tweaks to specific skills or builds; it directly alters the underlying damage scaling mechanisms, creating a ripple effect that impacts gear, Paragon boards, skills, and overall build power.
Meanwhile, a new type of Diablo 4 items - Soul Splinters - has further shifted build logic, offering players a high-risk, high-reward progression path. Class-specific Uniques and set bonuses have also undergone near-rework-level adjustments, significantly altering the dominant playstyles and power curves for several classes.
Below is the power ranking based on current class performance:
- S: Warlock
- A: Rogue, Barbarian
- B+: Druid, Necromancer
- B: Sorcerer
- C: Paladin
- D: Spiritborn
Tier S: Warlock
Warlock received the most extensive set of changes among all classes in Season 15. Ultimate skills such as Dark Prison, Bombardment, and Spear of Chaos can now be cast while moving. While this change doesn't directly boost damage numbers, it fundamentally transforms Warlock's gameplay experience: you can unleash a continuous stream of damage while actively repositioning to avoid incoming attacks.
What truly elevates Warlock to god-tier status is the synergy between Splinter of the Black Soulstone and the class's minion-summoning mechanics. The base effect of this Soul Splinter allows the player to absorb a soul upon killing an enemy (lasting 15 seconds); each soul grants a 5% damage boost but also increases damage taken by 0.5%.
Crucially, demons summoned via Warlock's Bombardment and Blazing Scream skills count as killed when they expire, thereby triggering the soul absorption effect. This interaction allows Warlock to stack up to 200-300 souls within seconds, resulting in a massive 1,000% to 1,500% increase in damage. Destruction Demon variant of Metamorphosis has also received a significant buff: the damage bonus per stack of Hellfire skill has increased from 4% to 6%; at skill level 25, the actual bonus per cast can reach 8% to 9%.
Although Dominance bonus from Dynamism Legendary Paragon node has been reduced from 3% to 2.5%, when factoring in the other enhancements, the Warlock's overall damage output remains the highest among all classes.
Tier A: Rogue, Barbarian
Rogue
Rogue saw the fewest changes in D4 Season 15, but no news is good news; Poison-based Penetrating Shot build remains capable of consistently clearing Pit 140+, and Poison variant of Rain of Arrows continues to perform exceptionally well.
The only significant nerf concerns Azurewrath: previously, it caused frozen enemies to explode for area-of-effect damage, but now it simply deals 150% additional damage to frozen targets. While this is a blow to builds that relied on Azurewrath for clearing, Poison Rogue builds do not depend on this item, so the overall impact is limited.
Barbarian
Barbarian's core stat scalar has been reduced from 1.1 to 0.8, meaning the damage bonus provided by every 10 points of Strength has dropped from 1.1% to 0.8%. Based on 3,000 Strength, the previous 330% total damage bonus has fallen to 240%, representing a net loss of approximately 90% damage.
That is not all; the damage of Madawc variant of Call of the Ancients was slashed in half from 240% to 120%, and the bleeding damage from Two-Handed Sword Expertise dropped from 30% to 15%. Fury drain mechanic on Ramaladni's Magnum Opus was also changed from applying out-of-combat to only during combat; while the 7% maximum Fury drain rate is an improvement over the 10% seen in PTR, it still places strain on Barbarian's resource sustainability.
Nevertheless, thanks to having the most weapon slots of any class and a solid skill foundation, Barbarian remains firmly in Tier A. Whirlwind and Charge builds are still capable of efficient clearing in Torment 12.
Tier B+: Druid, Necromancer
Druid
Druid could emerge as the biggest dark horse this season. Song of the Old Mountain set previously suffered from a critical bug that prevented Earth builds from functioning correctly. With this bug now fixed, Earth skills like Landslide, Earth Spike, and Boulder can finally unleash their full intended power. The set's 5-piece bonus causes enemies affected by Petrify to take 100% increased critical strike damage and explode for 200% of the damage absorbed during the Petrify duration.
Buffs to Fleshrender have also opened the door for Tornado builds: the damage bonus for returning Tornadoes has been raised from the previous 40%-50% range to 100%-135%. Tornado Druid could become a competitive mid-to-high-tier build.
Necromancer
Buffs to Necromancer cannot be overlooked either. Its core stat scalar has increased from 1.25 to 1.625, matching the gains enjoyed by Paladin and Druid. Soulrift has gained a Shadow Damage scaling mechanic, significantly boosting its synergy with Darkness-themed builds.
Army of the Dead can now stack during its duration; each cast summons additional explosive skeletal warriors, up to a maximum of 5 stacks. Although Rathma's Waking Touch 5-piece set bonus for Army of the Dead was reduced from 450% to 200%, the bonus type was changed to Summoning Damage, meaning it now applies to all summons. In other words, a nerf to a single skill has effectively translated into a buff for the entire summoning archetype.
Tier B: Sorcerer
Sorcerer received an increase to its Intelligence scalar (matching the 1.625 coefficient of Druid, Necromancer, and Paladin). Orbital version of Ball Lightning can now be cast while moving, Deep Freeze gained an Ice Spike generation mechanic, and Meteor received a damage boost.
However, Sorcerer faces challenges regarding build diversity. Flame Wall remains the only truly viable build; while other skills received numerical buffs, they lack the necessary mechanical support to form cohesive endgame setups. In testing, optimized Sorcerer builds could clear roughly Pit levels 115 to 120, showing a clear performance gap compared to the high-end capabilities of other classes.
Tier C: Paladin
Paladin's situation is nuanced. Developers significantly boosted Paladin's Strength scaling factor from 1.25 to 1.625. Based on 3,000 Strength, the damage bonus jumps from 375% to 487.5% - a net increase of over 100%. Shield of Retribution variant of Blessed Shield now correctly scales with Thorns damage, and both Zeal and Divine Lance have received damage buffs.
However, Paladin's fundamental issue is a lack of sources for high-multiplier multiplicative damage. Even with an optimized maxed-out build, the final damage multiplier remains more than 2,000% lower than that of other classes. Consequently, despite the significant boost from Strength, Paladin still struggles to compete with other classes when pushing deep into Pit.
Tier D: Spiritborn
Spiritborn's decline is the most dramatic story of Diablo 4 Season 15. In Season 14, the class gained an extra 600% damage bonus due to a bug involving Tzic Rune, allowing Concussive Stomp builds to dominate the leaderboards. Developers have since fixed this bug without providing any direct compensatory damage buffs.
What does a 600% loss in damage mean? Simply put, a skill that previously dealt 10 million damage now deals only about 1.4 million.
However, Spiritborn is not without options. The damage of the third hit of Rock-splitter has been raised from 80% to 110%, and Inner Ferocity damage bonus increased from 75% to 100%. Its Shattered Stone variant now causes Thorns damage to scale with skill level.
Since Basic Skills can easily be boosted beyond level 40 through gear and Charms, a Thorns-based Spiritborn theoretically possesses significant growth potential.
Regarding Paragon nodes, Bitter Medicine gained 60% extra damage and Convergence gained 40%, while the bonus per stack for Drive rose from 6% to 10%. At the maximum 20 stacks, the damage bonus gained from movement increased from 120% to 200%.
As a result, certain Spiritborn builds can still reach Pit 150 range, though doing so requires highly optimized gear and expert gameplay. However, for the average player, the experience of playing the Spiritborn this season will be noticeably inferior to that of other classes.
In summary, Diablo 4 Season 15 presents a rare, polarized landscape: Warlock leads with overwhelming dominance, whereas Spiritborn requires far more effort to achieve comparable results.
For most players, Warlock, Rogue, and Barbarian offer the most reliable starting points; if you prioritize build variety and growth potential, the underrated buffs to Druid and Necromancer might hold some pleasant surprises. As for Spiritborn - if you fell deeply in love with the class in Season 14, now is the true test of your loyalty.

If you are planning to return to Diablo 4 or start a fresh journey, join us as we explore what Season of Hell's Legacy has in store!
Story
The narrative of Season 15 centers on three Dark Wanderers - former hosts to Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal - who have returned from Pandemonium.
Guided by the spirit of Deckard Cain, players will delve into Wanderers' fractured memories and confront the nightmares that shaped their destinies.
For veteran players, this is a chance to revisit the history of Diablo series; for newcomers, it offers an intuitive way to understand exactly why these villains are so dangerous.
New Content
Rebirth
Players following Diablo 4 Season 15 news are likely already familiar with Rebirth system - a highly practical feature introduced this season.
You can convert an existing Eternal Realm character into a Seasonal character; while your level resets to 1, your class, name, appearance, and cosmetic collections remain intact.
This system is perfect for players who want to experience the new season with a familiar character without the hassle of renaming or recreating them from scratch.
Horadric Post
In Season 15, Horadric Post serves as the hub for claiming rewards, including seasonal prizes, supplies, and commemorative items. Be sure to check it after logging in so you don't miss out on anything.
Unique Charms
The new season also introduces Unique Charms. These items do not occupy armor or weapon slots; instead, they primarily provide passive bonuses, with some even granting set-like effects.
For players looking to experiment with new playstyles, the brand-new Unique Charms offer expanded build possibilities and add another layer of choice to Diablo 4 items.
Seasonal Gameplay
Diablo 4: Season of Hell's Legacy allows you to harness the echo of a Prime Evil - Diablo, Mephisto, or Baal.
Your choice unlocks specific abilities, seasonal progression rewards, and challenge paths, effectively serving as the season's thematic progression route.
Meanwhile, Waking Nightmares lets you step into the fractured memories of the Dark Wanderer to confront twisted illusions, redeem tormented souls, and claim hidden rewards.
Another key feature is Soul Splinters - derived from the residual essence of iconic enemies from Sanctuary's history, they grant powerful abilities and unique buffs, though they come at a cost.
Players should be sure to check for negative effects before using Soul Splinters, rather than focusing solely on damage boosts.
Additionally, long-lost Relics of Legend return in Diablo 4 Season 15, appearing as brand-new Unique items.
Each Unique item delivers powerful effects and opens up new build opportunities, making them well worth prioritizing as you progress into the mid-to-late season.
30th Anniversary Rewards
Diablo's 30th Anniversary brings enticing rewards for players, distributed via Reliquary system.
You can customize your reward acquisition path rather than being forced to claim them in a fixed order.
The free tier requires Favor to unlock and includes:
- 2× 100 Platinum
- 1 Mount
- 1 Mount Armor
- 3 Weapon Transmogs
- 1 Town Portal
- 3 Additional Weapon Transmogs
Note that the additional weapon transmogs are found within the Armor, Beast, and Weapon Reliquaries.
The paid (or premium) tier centers on the 30th Anniversary theme, offering a Unique armor set for each class - inspired by legendary heroes from Sanctuary's history - along with a premium Town Portal and weapon cosmetics.
Which battle pass should you choose?
In addition to the free Battle Pass, there are two paid options available: the Premium Battle Pass Bundle and the Deluxe Battle Pass Bundle, each offering different bundled content.
Premium Battle Pass Bundle
The Premium Battle Pass Bundle unlocks all premium Reliquaries and saves you 500 Platinum compared to unlocking them individually. Furthermore, upon completing each Reliquary, you can obtain a piece of Righteous Archangel armor set.
Deluxe Battle Pass Bundle
In addition to including all Premium Reliquaries, the Deluxe Battle Pass Bundle instantly unlocks Righteous Archangel armor set for all classes and comes with the matching Wings of Justice and Lordling of Terror pet.
If you want to get the full cosmetic set immediately at the start of Diablo 4 Season 15, the Deluxe Battle Pass Bundle is the most direct option; however, if you prefer to unlock them gradually, the Premium Battle Pass Bundle offers better value.
How to Prepare?
Before 9:30 AM PT on September 15, decide whether you want to use Rebirth system; if you have a long-standing character you are attached to, using Rebirth saves you the trouble of recreating their look and name.
Next, consider which echo of Prime Evil path you want to pursue in Season of Hell's Legacy, as this choice will affect your abilities and rewards.
Once in the game, make sure to prioritize checking Horadric Post and Reliquary to review the free rewards and Favor progression paths.
Finally, if the 30th-anniversary bundle content appeals to you, plan your Platinum and Battle Pass budget in advance.
Whether you are a returning veteran or a new player diving into the season, sorting out these details now will help you hit the ground running when Season of Hell's Legacy launches on September 15!
