Diablo 4 Season 15 3.2.0 PTR Goes Live August 4th: Soul Splinters, Legacy Uniques, Rebirth, and More

Jul 31, 2026 Author: D4gold

Guys, the exciting news is that while players are busy conquering the high-level Pit and challenging endgame content in Diablo 4 Season 14, the development team has quietly prepared Season 15's 3.2.0 PTR!

Furthermore, there's quite a bit of new content to experience in this PTR, so players eager to get a sneak peek at the changes in Season 15 should definitely take note.

PTR Opening Time

Diablo 4 Season 15 3.2.0 PTR will be open to everyone on August 4th at 10:00 AM (Pacific Time), giving you a full week to test it out. The PTR will close on August 11th at 10:00 AM.

This PTR primarily allows players to test some of the new mechanics and system adjustments in Season 15, but the development team has deliberately withheld some content from this test for official announcement at BlizzCon.

The testing focuses on new socketable Diablo 4 items, challenge gameplay, the rework of Legacy legendary gear, Mythic item crafting reform, the character rebirth system, and a brand-new message delivery mechanism.

Diablo 4 Season 15 3.2.0 PTR Goes Live August 4th: Soul Splinters, Legacy Uniques, Rebirth, and More

Soul Splinters

These are new jewelry splinters in Diablo 4 Season 15, available in five qualities (Common, Magic, Rare, Legendary, and Unique). Players can upgrade them in Horadric Cube.

Each Splinter provides either elemental or physical resistance, along with a powerful buff and a significant debuff, requiring players to make trade-offs based on their build.

Announced Splinters include:

  • Splinter of Anguish: Increases Fire Resistance, Critical Strike Chance, and Attack Speed, but increases Primary Resource Costs.
  • Splinter of Sin: Increases Lightning Resistance and Maximum Health, but decreases Maximum Primary Resource.
  • Splinter of Lies: Increases Cold Resistance, Gold Drop Rate, and Crafting Material Drop Rate, and also provides an Experience bonus, but the character will be permanently Weakened and Vulnerable.
  • Splinter of the Black Soulstone: All Stats bonus, stacks increased damage upon enemy kills, and each stack increases damage taken; stacks do not refresh.
  • Splinter of Pain: Poison Resistance, gains Damage Reduction, but Movement Speed is reduced.
  • Splinter of the Mother: Physical Resistance, grants Unhindered status, making enemies Vulnerable upon contact, but multiple contacts will cause you to be Stunned for a short time.
  • Splinter of Hellfire: Resistance to All Elements, increases global damage multiplier, but you will also lose 100% Critical Strike Chance.
  • Splinter of Damnation: Shadow Resistance, temporarily increases Monster Power after killing an Elite Pack.

Challenge Dungeons

This new mechanic will create portals throughout Overland, but entering them will lead to powerful boss battles.

On Torment difficulty, you can increase the difficulty by up to three levels above your current Torment level to earn greater rewards in Diablo 4 Season 15.

However, players should note that the official statement indicates Challenge Dungeons in this 3.2.0 PTR are primarily for testing the underlying systems; the final Season 15 release will use different content.

Overland Ambush

While exploring Diablo 4 Overland, demons will occasionally begin tracking your character. You will receive a warning and have 30 seconds to choose between fleeing or engaging in combat.

This will undoubtedly be a highly challenging encounter in Season 15, severely testing the survivability and damage output of top-tier builds.

Legacy Uniques

In this 3.2.0 PTR, players can also see some classic equipment from Diablo 4 (original, second, and third installments) returning in Unique quality and permanently added to Diablo 4.

Five of these items are usable by all classes, while the other five are limited to specific class combinations.

The announced equipment applicable to all classes includes:

  • Leoric's Crown (Helm)
  • Nemesis Bracers (Gloves)
  • Stone of Jordan (Ring)
  • Squirt's Blouse (Chest)
  • Squirt's Necklace incorporated into a Chest piece

The announced class-specific equipment includes:

  • Arioc's Needle (2H Polearm): Barbarian, Druid, Spiritborn
  • Henri's Perquisition (Offhand Focus): Sorcerer, Necromancer, Warlock
  • In-Geom (1H Sword): Paladin, Druid, Barbarian, Necromancer, Warlock, Rogue
  • The Furnace (2H Mace): Paladin, Barbarian, Necromancer, Druid, Warlock
  • Messerschmidt's Reaver (2H Axe): Necromancer, Barbarian, Paladin, Druid, Warlock

These unique affixes on equipment retain the flavor of the original game but will be adapted to Diablo 4 equipment system.

Mythic Unique Reform

This change to Mythic Unique system is perhaps one of the most noteworthy parts of the entire 3.2.0 PTR, though it involves some simplification, costs, and limitations.

Crafting Changes

Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4 Season 15 can be obtained through two methods.

First, there's Horadric Cube - upgrading specified equipment to Mythic quality: it's relatively expensive but completely targeted - put in a regular Legendary item, and all its affixes, Masterworking, and Tempering attributes will be retained, only upgrading it to Mythic quality.

However, this recipe cannot be used on unmodifiable items, and the resulting Mythic equipment will have a crafted tag, and you can only equip one Mythic item with this tag on your character at a time.

The second method is Jeweler - Rune Crafting: Using Resplendent Sparks and runes, it randomly generates one Mythic Unique usable by your class in that equipment slot.

Items obtained through Jeweler do not have the crafted tag and will not affect your equipment quantity limit.

Blacksmith's Mythic Cache Adjustments

In Season 15 3.2.0 PTR, Blacksmith's Mythic Cache crafting recipes will drop Mythic Uniques or Iconic Mythics, neither of which have the crafted tag.

The development team stated that this decision is to ensure that players who already possess crafted Mythics will still have a way to consume excess Sparks in Diablo 4 without consuming additional runes.

Iconic Mythics Gets a Unique Version

This change will also be good news for players, as all original Iconic Mythics will be released in regular Unique quality versions in Season 15, and their attributes will be easier to obtain, which will help your character build more smoothly in the early stages of the season.

New Mythic and Unique Charms

In addition, Diablo 4 Season 15 charms will be expanded, specifically for Mythic and Unique charms.

Mythic Unique Charms

Existing Unique Charms have a very low chance of dropping as Mythic Unique quality, with the highest value for attribute affixes and significantly enhanced unique effects.

However, you will not be able to obtain them through crafting or targeted farming; you can acquire them through the PTR merchant: Mrak.

New Unique Charms

The new season will add 16 new charms based on Uniques that already existed in the game but were not previously made into charms, plus eight charms based on the aforementioned Legacy Uniques.

Rebirth

Players, the long-awaited feature - character rebirth - is finally available in Season 15!

Once Season 15 begins, players can directly convert their Eternal characters to Seasonal characters, resetting their level to 1. However, your class, name, appearance, and all cosmetic preferences such as mounts, pets, headstones, transmogs, and portals will be retained.

After rebirth, your character's accumulated playtime will continue to accumulate. However, before rebirthing, remember to clear all equipment and items from your character's inventory; otherwise, the system will issue a warning and forcibly clear your inventory.

Horadric Post

As a one-way system message and reward distribution channel, Horadric Post allows Diablo 4 development team to send important notifications or souvenirs to player accounts. During 3.2.0 PTR, players will also receive an early testing commemorative reward through this system - don't miss it!

If you install the client yourself and play a couple of rounds in Diablo 4 Season 15 3.2.0 PTR, it will be much more interesting than just reading the text commentary. See you on August 4th!
