Diablo 4 Season 12 PTR 2.6.0 Release Date, New Systems, Bloodied Sigils, and Class Balance

Jan 30, 2026 Author: D4gold

Diablo 4 Season 11 was a fantastic season, with the Sanctification system and the new Paladin class being particularly impressive. However, Season 12 is even more anticipated due to the release of Lord of Hatred expansion.

The official release date for Season 12 PTR has been announced, along with details on new gameplay and systems, and this promises to be a very bloody season.

Diablo 4 Season 12 PTR 2.6.0 Release Date, New Systems, Bloodied Sigils, and Class Balance

Date

The most important information is the schedule: PTR 2.6.0 will launch on February 3rd (10:00 AM PST) and run until February 10th (10:00 AM PST), lasting only one week.

Since the main focus of Season 12 is the new expansion releasing on April 28th, the developers have stated that Season 12 will be a very short season. While this aims to make the season interesting, it's foreseeable that not all new content will be included in this test.

Killstreaks System

Diablo 4 Killstreaks System

First up is Killstreaks System, where immersing yourself in bloodlust will gradually make you stronger. Maintain fast and efficient kill streaks to increase your power and earn rewards.

The official screenshots show a kill streak of 287, displayed as Devastation. This is similar to killstreak combo mechanic in Diablo III. Currently, in Diablo IV, there is no similar killstreak counter or buff display regardless of the number of enemies killed.

killstreak system has five levels:

  • Killstreak
  • Carnage
  • Devastation
  • Bloodbath
  • Massacre

When Killstreaks gauge is completely depleted, you will receive experience and seasonal reputation rewards (only experience rewards are available in PTR). The amount of experience and reputation gained is based on the total number of monsters killed during a killstreak, with additional bonuses based on your killstreak rank. However, if you die during a killstreak, it ends immediately without any rewards.

Bloodied Items

Closely related to the killstreak system are the newly added Bloodied Items. This is a new legendary item quality, and in official screenshots, gloves, axes, and amulets all feature a blood-themed appearance. This is because they possess passive killstreak-related effects: Rampage, Feast, and Hunger.

These Bloodied Items have affixes that increase their Aspect based on the current killstreak rank. Like other affixes, the effects of blood-themed affixes stack. Bloodied Affixes can appear on any piece of equipment, and an item can be both Ancestral and Bloodied quality simultaneously.

Bloodied Affixes are divided into three categories:

  • Rampage: Provides a buff based on the current killstreak level, primarily applied to Armor, increasing movement speed.
  • Feast: Provides a combat buff based on the current killstreak total, primarily applied to weapons.
  • Hunger: Increases the drop rate of certain Diablo 4 items as the killstreak level increases, primarily applied to jewelry.

Bloodied Sigils

Diablo 4 Bloodied Sigil

Next, you can unlock even more bloody carnage with Bloodied Sigils. These sigils may appear in Nightmare Dungeons, Helltides, and Lair boss Dorps, and they are only available at Torment I and higher difficulties.

Each Bloodied Sigil carries Relentless Butcher affix, which will cause the infamous human supplier - Relentless Butcher - to relentlessly hunt you down and harass your every move. If you successfully down Butcher, he will immediately reappear, never stopping.

Relentless Butcher summoned by Bloodied Sigils does not affect the normal appearance of Relentless Butcher in the dungeon. As seen in the official screenshots, Butcher has appeared in the dungeon.

Blood Sigil event will be more difficult than its current world tier, and of course, the rewards will be better. Successfully completing Bloodied Sigils challenge will guarantee a Bloodied item drop.

New Unique Items

Defeat Butcher and continue your carnage for a chance to obtain new unique equipment:

Blood-Mad Idol - Unique Amulet

  • Applicable Class: All Classes
  • Unique Effect: When you are Berserking, you take 200% more Burning damage for 8 seconds. Additionally, Berserking provides an extra 75%-125% damage bonus while Burning.

Wendigo Brand - Unique Ring

  • Applicable Class: All Classes.
  • Unique Effect: Increases damage dealt by 2% and maximum health by 1% for every 15 kills within the past 30-60 seconds.

Rustbitten Dirk - Unique Dagger

  • Applicable Classes: Sorcerer, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer
  • Unique Effect: Deals 50%-100% bonus damage to isolated enemies.

Wyrdskin - Unique Gloves

  • Applicable Class: All Classes
  • Unique Effect: Attacks make distant enemies vulnerable and nearby enemies weakened. Deals 10%-30% bonus damage to vulnerable and weakened enemies.

Thousand-Eye Reaver - Unique One-Handed Axe

  • Applicable Classes: Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin
  • Unique Effect: Moving grants Ferocity, increasing maximum Ferocity stacks by 1-3. Each stack of Berserk grants 4%-8% movement speed. Berserk is gained by killing elite monsters.

Class Balance

This test server update also includes some class balance changes. Please note that these only apply to the test server and do not affect the current live server.

Paladin

Paladin demonstrated dominance in season 11, far surpassing other classes in strength, so a nerf in season 12 was expected.

Pronouncement of Heaven will now summon three initial spears, which can be marked with Judgement for 12 seconds. Combined with other changes, this is likely a significant nerf, reducing its single-target damage output.

Castle Paragon Node

Castle's effect has changed from "Gaining damage increased by 1.8% of armor" to "Dealing additional damage equal to 125% of the damage reduction provided by armor."

Players typically gain about 80% damage reduction from armor, so the changes will only roughly double that, a significant nerf compared to the previous 3000% or more increase.

Other Classes

Aside from Paladins, other classes have received some buffs. This may be to compensate for the decline in build strength caused by the removal of Sanctification mechanic, with Sorcerer and Barbarian buffs being particularly significant.

Overall, Season 12 revolves around the new killstreak system and its accompanying bloodied items and dungeons. This is likely to be a season focused on rapid leveling, Paragon level acquisition, and glyph upgrades, which should be very enjoyable.
