Why 99% of players still can't reach the True Endgame in Diablo 4 Season 12 despite amazing loot?

Mar 18, 2026 Author: D4gold

We know Diablo 4 Season 12 is quite short. It has some highlights, like the kill streak system and the ability to transform into The Butcher, but the drawbacks of Season 12 are also hard to ignore.

This season, the expansion's importance has grown significantly. If you don't own Lord of Hatred, it feels like you're locked out of the game's most hardcore content, as you need Paladin. Let's look at the highlights of Season 12 and the issues it's currently facing.

Why 99% of players still can't reach the True Endgame in Diablo 4 Season 12 despite amazing loot?

Transforming into The Butcher

Turning into The Butcher during Season 12 is genuinely a lot of fun. Especially when you experience it on a low-level alt. You can stockpile some Meaty Offerings on another character, then switch to your alt, transform into The Butcher, and power through levels. This makes the early leveling process incredibly enjoyable.

Slaughterhouses event is also pretty entertaining. You get to play as an unkillable boss mowing down regular monsters. However, the XP gains from this mode are low, and the rewards are poor, so it doesn't hold players' attention for long.

The new Lair Boss in Season 12, The Broiler, is also excellent. The encounter is quite cool and genuinely challenging. More importantly, it drops a ton of Fresh Meat, which you can exchange for items at Fresh Meat Vendor.

Loot

Bloodied items in Season 12 are also interesting. Paired with the kill streak system, you can gain significant boosts to damage, maximum life, or movement speed. Players really enjoy pushing for that extra damage on top of their regular gear.

Overall, the loot experience this season is quite impressive. Items with double Greater Affixes, triple, or even quadruple Greater Affixes appear frequently. Combined with the high-quality gear you can get from Season Reputation caches, it's easy to acquire the equipment you need.

Bloodstained Sigils

The design of Bloodstained Sigils is excellent. They allow players to challenge more difficult content and offer increased XP.

However, this is where the problems start. This content seems entirely balanced around Paladin's power level. Once you clear Pit Level 100, your sigils upgrade from Bloodstained to Bloodsoaked. Enemy difficulty spikes dramatically to what feels like Torment 7, with enemies possessing hundreds of trillions of health.

Even with a perfectly optimized build for other classes, the bosses become something else entirely. Unless you have a character capable of dealing tens of trillions of damage, most builds don't even stand a chance.

Consequently, you're essentially required to have Lord of Hatred and use Paladin—which, even post-nerf, can still dish out 5 to 10 trillion damage—to tackle this high-difficulty content.

Even with the overtuned Paladin, many players struggle to clear Pit 100. But once you barely manage it with Paladin and obtain Bloodsoaked sigils with no way to revert them, even that character loses access to the previous experience.

If they lowered the difficulty so other classes could participate, it would become trivial for Paladin. But that would be a genuinely good change for all the players who didn't pre-order, don't want to play a specific class, or simply don't want to pay.

Season 12 Bugs

This season is also riddled with a ton of bugs. If you take a Bloodied item without a Greater Affix and imprint an Aspect onto it, you will always get the minimum possible value for that Aspect. This issue has existed since the start of the season and remains unpatched, and every new player encounters it.

Also, when you claim the +4 Paragon Points reward from Season Journey, the system simply doesn't give them to you. If you try to craft Resplendent Sparks on day one, that specific cache is broken. You'll waste 50 million Diablo 4 gold and two Resplendent Sparks and get nothing in return.

Materials

The advantage in Diablo 4 Season 12 is that gear isn't scarce. However, if you want to Masterwork your equipment, Obducites are rarer than ever.

Treasure Breach dungeon is the best way to farm Obducites, but you might have to craft 100 to 200 sigils just to encounter a single Treasure Breach.

Meanwhile, Infernal Hordes and Tribute of Refinement are completely useless for obtaining Obducites. For the developers to restrict this core material in such a short season is really limiting the fun for players.

Difficulty Balance

In summary, the concept of Bloodstained Sigils is exactly what players have been asking for over multiple seasons—increased world difficulty. In the past, you had Mindcages to empower Helltides, and now we have Bloodied Sigils to empower all content. Bloodsoaked Sigils could have been a fun challenge (perhaps equal to Torment 6 difficulty), but the developers have made it so difficult it's almost impossible, only barely achievable with an overpowered class.

This is a recurring issue in Diablo 4's development cycles. Whether it was the chaotic items or the sanctification system, good ideas always seem to get removed after a season ends, leaving us with a half-baked product.

Of course, all of this might change with the release of Lord of Hatred, which will introduce 12 Torment tiers. Hopefully, they can balance all 12 levels properly. For Season 12, if you really want to farm the Bloodsoaked content effectively, you'll need to use Paladin.
