How to Farm Mythic Items and Seals Endlessly in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred after Patch 3.0.2?

May 18, 2026 Author: D4gold

Mythic items in Diablo 4 are central to pushing many endgame builds to their full potential, and even more enticing are Mythic Charms and Mythic Seals - they allow you to harness the power of additional Mythic items without occupying your precious gear slots. Plenty of methods exist for acquiring them in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred, but what we need is the single most efficient one.

Your primary targets should be two bosses: Astaroth and The Butcher. Following patch 3.0.2, their mythic unique drop rates have been improved. By hunting these two bosses over and over in an endless loop, Mythic items and Mythic Seals will stream into your loot pool nonstop.

How to Farm Mythic Items and Seals Endlessly in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred after Patch 3.0.2?

War Plans Configuration

First, you need to set up the crucial nodes in your War Plans correctly.

Nightmare Dungeon Nodes

Recurring Nightmare

This node gives bosses in Nightmare Dungeons a chance to drop Escalating Nightmare Sigils, creating a self-sustaining loop so you never need to farm ordinary Nightmare Sigils outside the cycle.

Branching Pathways

This node lets you choose from three different routes during a Nightmare Dungeon Escalation. Its value is immense, as it allows you to direct your nightmare dungeon farming toward whichever resources you currently need.

Lair Boss Nodes

Two by Two & Greater Nemesis & Ultimate Nemesis

These form the central path of Lair Boss Warplans. Following this path opens extra Nemesis portals after you slay a Lair Boss, leading to even more Lair Boss kills and, in turn, far more loot.

Lair of Runes & Lair of Plenty

The two leftmost nodes offer considerable help as well. Lair of Plenty adds an extra chest upon defeating a Lair boss, but that is not the highlight. The true worth of these two nodes lies in each one raising Monster Power of Lair bosses by +1. It appears minor, yet it dramatically boosts the quality of the bosses' drops.

The Farming Process

Phase One

Begin by running Nightmare Dungeon Escalations. To acquire Escalating Nightmare Sigils, place ordinary Nightmare Dungeon Sigils into Horadric Cube - every five normal sigils convert into one upgraded sigil. Stockpile three or four upgraded sigils as your starting resource; after that, dedicated sigil farming becomes unnecessary, as the loop naturally replenishes them.

When farming Escalation dungeons, due to Branching Pathways effect, after completing each dungeon, you can choose the affixes for the next dungeon, depending on whether you want gold or items.

The truly critical decision, however, arrives at the final option before facing Astaroth. Here you should prioritise these three affixes:

  • Riches of Keys: Astaroth drops a massive amount of Nightmare Dungeon sigils, with a chance at Escalating Nightmare Sigils, allowing the cycle to continue.
  • Lair Keys: Astaroth drops a large quantity of Lair Keys, which you will use in the second phase of farming.
  • Greater Lair Keys: This affix is relatively rare, and it causes Astaroth to drop a large number of Greater Lair Keys.

Throughout this entire process, your mercenaries gain experience and, as a result, generate Pale Marks. You can take these Pale Marks to Bartering Vendor and exchange them for even more Lair boss keys.

Phase Two

You will have accumulated a substantial number of Lair Boss Keys during Phase One, and Phase Two is where you deplete them.

Regular Lair Boss Keys

Which low-tier Lair Boss you pick hardly matters, as their drop probabilities for various rewards are identical. Your ultimate aim is to obtain Greater Lair Keys from these low-tier boss chests.

That said, pleasant surprises can and do appear while farming these bosses - a mini Belial dropping Betrayer's Husk, for instance, or a Nemesis Portal that contains additional Lair Bosses.

Note that after completing a Nemesis Lair Boss, you must teleport out and reset the dungeon. If you do not, and a chest luckily yields another Nemesis Portal, you will be sent back to the same cleared-out Nemesis Lair.

Greater Lair Boss Keys

When it comes to spending your Greater Lair Keys, only one choice exists: The Butcher. In the current patch, The Butcher stands as the finest source of Diablo 4 Mythic items, with a mythic gear drop rate that has been improved since the latest update.

Challenging The Butcher with a Greater Lair Key rewards you with chests whose mythic drop rates are absurdly high; it is not uncommon to see mythic uniques drop from both chests at once. Belial can appear here as well, and opening The Butcher's chests can trigger a Nemesis Lair Boss.

Betrayer's Husk

If you have stockpiled many Betrayer's Husks during the earlier steps, take on Belial. After defeating it, consuming two Betrayer's Husks lets you select a boss and receive an extra batch of loot drawn from that boss's drop table. Moreover, Belial itself boasts a decent chance to drop Mythic Seals.

Once you have exhausted all your Lair Boss Keys and Betrayer's Husks, simply return to Phase One and begin accumulating them all over again.

This is the most effective method of farming Mythic items and Mythic Seals after Patch 3.0.2. Once the cycle takes off, you never need to trade items with other players - every material you require becomes entirely self-sustaining, and the only thing you invest is your time.
