Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Arrow Storms Rogue Build: How Shard of Verathiel turns basic attacks into a Screen-Clearing Gatling?

May 21, 2026 Author: D4gold

Players, as you all know, in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred, the pinnacle of Rogue class is Arrow Storms Rogue build. This build boasts an incredibly powerful ability to generate arrows, balancing high damage output with survivability, making it more efficient than you might imagine.

In short, this is a Rogue endgame build built around Arrow Storms. Its core gameplay involves rapidly casting the basic skill Forceful Arrow, triggering a large number of Arrow Storms through gear and skill synergy, dealing devastating area-of-effect damage to enemies both on and off screen.

Specializations and Skills

Specialization Selection

For Specializations, we prioritize Inner Sight. This build utilizes Shard of Verathiel, which consumes a significant amount of energy; triggering Inner Sight greatly alleviates the energy pressure.

However, once the gear is fully upgraded, this Specialization can be replaced with Preparation to reduce the cooldown of the ultimate skill, Shadow Clone.

Core Skills

The core Rogue skill is Forceful Arrow, the most fundamental skill. The key is utilizing a modifier to create an Arrow Storm every three casts, slowing enemies by 50%.

Another modifier is Energy Regeneration, to aid resource cycling.

The next skill is Calrops, primarily used to provide a freeze effect, our crucial hard crowd control. It also triggers Deadly Ambush damage increase from Paragon Board.

Dark Shroud provides all elemental resistances and direct damage reduction. More importantly, our modifiers allow us to gain 50% additional Dodge Chance for 2 seconds after casting this skill.

As for Concealment, it can be used for self-preservation or tactical purposes, such as breaking free from crowd control, using stealth to rescue allies, or quickly traversing hordes of monsters in high-pressure situations. This skill is indispensable for most Rogue builds.

If this build includes Smoke Grenade skill, it can daze enemies for 4 seconds, stopping the boss from moving and allowing it to take the full damage from Arrow Storms.

The ultimate skill chosen is Shadow Clone, not only because it replicates the player's high damage, but also because we need it to trigger No Witnesses damage increase effect on Paragon board. This node requires the build to have at least one Cutthroat skill, so Shadow Clone takes over here.

It's worth noting that because Arrow Storms always deal physical damage and cannot benefit from imbue, the entire build focuses on increasing physical damage.

Paragon Board and Glyph

Our design of Paragon board further enhances the build's balanced offensive and defensive capabilities.

First, we insert Volley Glyph, which not only significantly increases the independent damage increase of Arrow Storms, but more importantly, it grants a 20% Dodge Chance for 3 seconds after recreating Arrow Storms. This forms the foundation of the entire dodge system.

Next, Exploit Weakness Legendary node increases damage against Vulnerable enemies by 60% while reducing damage Vulnerable enemies deal to the player; this benefit is almost permanent.

Cheap Shot Legendary node deals double damage to Crowd Controlled enemies, perfectly complementing Forceful Arrow's built-in slow effect and Calrops' freeze effect.

Additionally, there's Ranger Glyph, providing increased damage to Marksman skills and damage reduction when using ranged weapons. Assassin Glyph increases damage against elites and bosses. There are also Danse Macabre, Deadly Ambush, Chip, and others.

Finally, Combat Glyph's Critical Strike restores 12% of Energy, crucial for maintaining the energy cycle of this build. Even when using basic skills, the core items will consume energy.

Equipment and Aspect Combinations

Equipment selection is key to turning this build from usable to overpowered.

For weapons, Unique 1H Sword Shard of Verathiel is an absolute must-have core mechanic. It increases base skill damage by over 100%, but at the cost of consuming 25 energy per cast. This makes energy management a crucial aspect of this build.

For the bow, Cassia's Grace is recommended. It shortens the duration of Arrow Storms while significantly increasing their damage, and each Arrow Storm created has a chance to generate an additional Arrow Storm on a nearby enemy, greatly improving burst efficiency and coverage.

Another recommended weapon, El'Druin, Sword of Justice, isn't strictly necessary for this build, but it reduces the cooldown of ultimate skills after killing elite groups, making it very convenient to use.

The pants, equipped with a two-handed bow, directly grant 40% damage reduction through Enshrouding Aspect. Aspect of Pestilent Points on the boots allows Forceful Arrow to continuously inflict vulnerability, a reliable way to trigger vulnerability throughout the build.

Equipping the ring with Aspect of Arrow Storms increases the range of Arrow Storms by 50%. Amulet equips an aspect that increases Ferocity by 9 stacks, resulting in 13 Ferocity stacks.

The final two key items are what truly transform this build. Scoundrel's Kiss converts each Ferocity stack into 15% Marksman skill damage, which, combined with 13 Ferocity stacks, amounts to nearly a 200% damage increase.

Nilfur's Narrow Eye Set provides Vengeance, increasing Marksman skill damage by 200%. Furthermore, every time you cast a Marksman skill, it triggers three additional times the base Marksman skill you last used.

This means that each Forceful Arrow effectively becomes four arrows, and combined with the mechanism of generating an Arrow Storm every three arrows, a massive amount of Arrow Storms is generated in a very short time, resulting in exponentially increasing damage.

Overall, this is a low-skill, high-damage-ceiling endgame build in Lord of Hatred. The only thing to note is the high energy management pressure in the early game, and the fact that core items like Shard of Verathiel take some time to acquire. But once you get it, you can experience the immense power of Arrow Storms.
