Even after adjustments made by 3.1 PTR, Diablo 4 player community remains skeptical about the new Warlock class. It is, frankly, an awkward situation.
Typically, a new Diablo 4 class maintains a dominant position for at least one or two seasons; Warlock, however, was overlooked from the start.
This wasn't because other options gained a special advantage, but rather because the class itself suffers from inherent issues and a lack of competitiveness.

Define your playstyle and stick to it
Beyond the class's inherent flaws, another major reason many players shy away from Warlock is the complexity of its mechanics; there are numerous branching paths for both skills and builds.
However, regardless of the variety of playstyles available, if you define your style early on and stick to it, you only need to master the elements relevant to that specific approach. The complexities of other branches won't hinder you.
To be more specific: start by choosing a skill you enjoy, let's use Blazing Scream as an example. It launches a grotesque demonic head that subsequently spews out multiple smaller demonic heads, striking all nearby targets repeatedly.
Next, you need to thoroughly explore every aspect of the skill to ensure it suits your preferences, considering factors like casting mechanics, feel, and visual effects, as well as upgrade paths and skill variants.
Variants can radically alter a skill, effectively transforming it into something entirely different. Mastering these variants gives you a clearer understanding of the skill's utility and the direction you should take when crafting a build around it.
For instance, if you choose Skull Splitter upgrade, it doesn't just boost the skill's raw power; it also adds the lesser demon tag to the base skill, allowing you to benefit from associated effects.
Mastering skill tags
Once you have determined your core skill and build path, the next step is to systematically learn the skills and their associated tags.
You will need to select at least four or five skills from the skill tree, depending on whether you intend to harness the demonic power granted by Soul Shards.
Start with skills related to Demonology or those that incorporate Demonology elements. You should incorporate Command Fallen into almost all Diablo 4 Warlock builds to achieve semi-automated resource generation.
Defensive skills serve a supporting role, while Archfiend category offers more specialized utility. You might also consider Rampage skill and try integrating it into your builds; it boasts extensive upgrade options and provides excellent mobility.
Warlock's demon form mechanic significantly boosts survivability and increases the damage dealt by Demonology skills. Metamorphosis allows for various build variations, offering immense growth potential and enhanced survivability.
Regarding Soul Shards: each Soul Shard demon comes with both a passive and an active ability, with the primary ability functioning even without actively summoning the shard demon itself.

Take the demon tag, for instance. It represents not just Demonology category but encompasses classifications such as Greater Demons and Lesser Demons.
While in demon form, you gain damage reduction and can sacrifice Lesser Demons to absorb damage that would otherwise hit you.
Various elements involving demon mechanics either boost damage while in demon form or when demons are present nearby, increase damage when using Demonology skills, or even grant damage multipliers upon killing enemies or sacrificing your own demons.
In short, you can enter demon form more frequently and gain additional buffs from the swarm of demons surrounding you.
Understanding key gear properties
If you discover Unique items that align with your skills or build concept, be sure to investigate the specific benefits they offer.
For example, acquiring Dominance is the second-greatest challenge for Blazing Scream builds, as the acquisition method is highly specific and often tied to particular synergies and build-crafting strategies.
For Warlock, Dominance serves as both the resource consumed to summon Greater Demons in the summoning skill tree and a prerequisite for using Archfiend skills.
Within Warlock skill tree, only one basic skill involves Dominance: Command Fallen. One of its branching upgrades grants you 1 point of Dominance every time Command Fallen hits a target 15 times.
This might not seem like much at first glance, but considering that the natural regeneration rate for Dominance is only 1%, with few ways to alter that figure, this mechanic within Command Fallen is actually quite impressive.
Furthermore, it synergizes uniquely with Archfiend series of skills. These skills often provide excellent utility or combat boosts for your builds, Rampage being a standout example.
However, while the effect is powerful, tying a skill to Dominance consumption can hinder frequent use, potentially leading to a frustrating gameplay experience.
This is where the unique item Anathema of the Primes, comes into play. When equipped, Archfiend skills that transform you into a demonic form, such as Rampage, will consume Wrath instead of Dominance.
Given that Wrath is easy to manage while Dominance is a scarce resource, equipping this item, even if other gear offers superior raw stats, solves Dominance consumption issue, allowing you to play without that constant worry.
That said, there are also ways to increase your maximum Dominance capacity via Paragon Board. While options are limited, if you can generate 1 point of Dominance per second and a skill needs 10 points, you can manage your resources comfortably, provided you space out your skill usage reasonably.
As long as you start with a sufficient reserve of Dominance, you won't run dry before the fight ends. Therefore, alongside knowing how to raise your Dominance cap, it is wise to continuously expand or optimize your gear choices based on reliable options.
Other top-tier methods for Warlock players to generate Dominance include Horazon's Chains set or Indurage of Odium. The latter, for instance, generates 1 point of Dominance whenever you gain Wrath in excess of your maximum capacity (specifically, 50 points over the cap).
Increasing your attack speed
While the strategies above help ensure a solid Warlock experience, the class can still feel somewhat clunky to play in practice.
In Diablo 4, skill casting speed relies on breakpoints, and increasing attack speed serves to shorten the duration of animations. It doesn't simply speed up the motion; it actually reduces the number of frames required to execute the action.
Explaining the finer details would be a bit complex, but the bottom line is that higher attack speed makes Warlock feel much smoother to play, eliminating that clunky, sluggish sensation.
For instance, if you equip a weapon with an attack speed bonus alongside rings and gloves that boost this stat, your skill casting speed increases dramatically, and you can start moving again much sooner after an action.
Summary
The strategies above can provide a better Warlock experience in Season 13 and LoH expansion compared to before; however, they do not fundamentally resolve the class's underlying issues, improvements will largely depend on future optimization decisions by the development team.

The maximum number of Bone Storms in Diablo 4 is four, so once your Bone Storm's duration ends, it disappears. Therefore, the advantage of a single golem is that you can achieve infinite Bone Storms, allowing it to persist anywhere on the map.
Why are infinite Bone Storms so important? Because they continuously provide a 120% critical hit damage bonus, an independent multiplicative bonus with terrifying benefits. Furthermore, a single golem helps you maintain an Unstoppable state.
The practical combo is very simple: first, activate Bone Storm to ensure survival, then use Blight to gather enemies together, and finally press the golem's active burst skill - you'll see the golem leap into the enemy group, instantly dealing 2 trillion or 3 trillion damage. When traveling, use Sever to increase movement speed; the golem will automatically fly in from behind and detonate everything again. The only thing you need to be mindful of is maintaining the 6-stack damage buff from Crown of Lucian - this requires regular use of your core abilities to sustain.
Skill Setup
Golem
Golem is the absolute core of this build. We chose Iron Golem, which adds a shockwave with each attack, providing considerable AoE damage.
Aspect of Fel Gluttonyis is one of the offensive aspects for the Necromancer in Diablo 4. It causes Golem's active ability to explode, dealing damage to surrounding enemies. Golem also consumes Corpse to reduce the cooldown of its active ability. This means that as long as you continuously generate Corpse, you can frequently use Golem to create explosions.
Support Skills
- Skeleton Mages and Skeleton Warriors: Although we sacrificed them in Book of the Dead for passive bonuses, we will still retain a small number of Mages and Warriors as support. Mages provide Critical Strike Chance and Ferocity stacks, while Warriors provide healing and Resolve.
- Sever: Primarily increases movement speed, while also reducing mana cost and generating an additional Corpse effect.
- Blight: Gathers monsters and has a higher chance of a Lucky Hit.
- Curses: Carries both Iron Maiden and Decrepify. Weapon: Mace of King Leoric
You can obtain the Mace of King Leoric by summoning and defeating The Butcher. Its effect is that every 8 seconds, the golem consumes a Skeleton Mages or Skeleton Warriors, restoring full health and gaining a 70-80% damage increase for 10 seconds.

Kurast Undercity Mythic Uniques Farming
In Diablo 4 Season 13, Kurast Undercity was once the most effective method for farming Mythic items. At higher difficulties, such as Torment 12, using Mythic Tribute of Armaments almost guaranteed a Mythic drop.
In Season 14, the developers have stated that the situation in Season 13 was an error and has now been fixed; it simply gives you a higher chance of obtaining Mythic Unique items.

Kurast Undercity offers rewards based on the tribute you place, such as runes, masterworking materials, and so on. To craft Diablo 4 Mythic Tribute of Armaments, you will need to prepare Tribute of Armaments and Greater Tribute of Armaments as materials.
You can use Amalgamate recipe in Horadric Cube to combine 5 tributes of the same type into one higher-quality version. By doing so, you can gradually upgrade Tribute of Armaments all the way to a Mythic Tribute of Armaments. In other words, 25 Tribute of Armaments can be combined into one Mythic Tribute.
Tribute of Armaments
Unfortunately, there is no way to craft the base Tribute of Armaments; you can only obtain it through farming. Also, before you start farming, make sure you have completed the prerequisite quest line for Kurast Undercity in Vessel of Hatred; otherwise, no tributes will appear in the world.
Tribute of Armaments drops from many sources, including Tree of Whispers Caches, World Boss rewards, Helltide chests, dungeons, lair bosses, and others, all of which have a chance to drop them.

The Undercity Tree
Before consuming your precious Mythic Tribute, be sure to complete War Plans for Kurast Undercity and level The Undercity Tree to tier four. Then select the left path and activate the following nodes:
- Endless Swarm
- Unfortunate Souls
- Gutter Filth
- Trials and Tributes
Among these, Gutter Filth is the most important, as it causes Portal Pranksters to occasionally appear when you activate beacons. Trials and Tributes, in turn, grants an extra tribute opened chest for each Portal Prankster you kill, thereby bringing more opportunities to obtain Mythic items.
Team Up
It is advisable to farm together with friends. Pool everyone's tributes together, form a four-player group, and run repeatedly at the highest torment difficulty you can manage.

Since the release of Diablo 4 Season 14, observant players may have noticed that Betrayer's Husk from Season 13, while still present, has been transformed into Superior Lair Key.
Whether considering the difficulty of obtaining it or its value, Superior Lair Key is a highly sought-after item that players want to acquire as quickly as possible. Especially now that we are in the early stages of Season 14, if you can farm Superior Lair Key early on, you may be able to obtain rewards in Diablo 4 that other players do not have.
What is Superior Lair Key now?

Belial Encounters
If you're a veteran Diablo 4 player, you'll know that Belial encounters are the classic way to obtain Superior Lair Keys, although this method always involves an element of luck.
Belial still has a chance to ambush us after we open a regular Lair Boss's Hoard chest, but whether this acquisition method will trigger Belial is still unknown; we won't encounter Belial every time we open a chest.
Second, if you're playing in a group, even if you're lucky enough to encounter Belial, Superior Lair Key it drops will only belong to the person who opens the chest; other teammates cannot share it.
Furthermore, to obtain Superior Lair Key from a Belial encounter, you must go to Palace of the Deceiver in Amber Sands, and there are specific Torment difficulties and a level 78 requirement - some very rigid restrictions.
However, before Diablo 4 Season 14, this was the only way to obtain Betrayer's Husk, now Superior Lair Key, forcing players to repeatedly farm low-tier Lair Bosses to increase their chances of encountering Belial.

Surging Ruptures are medium-sized; completing them and achieving Mastery gives a chance to encounter a Realmwalker.
Especially during Helltide, intentionally farming Surging Ruptures and ensuring Mastery is the most efficient way to encounter Realmwalkers.
Colossal Ruptures, on the other hand, are the most cost-effective of the three types of Pandemonium Ruptures. They only appear in Fields of Desecration, the same location as World Boss Arena.
Once we complete Colossal Ruptures, we'll have a 100% chance to challenge Realmwalkers.
