Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Secret Goblin Dungeon exploit broke the economy! | Farm Infinite Mythic Uniques before the Hotfix Hits!

May 26, 2026 Author: D4gold

With the launch of Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, introducing the brand-new War Plans endgame mechanic alongside Talismans and Charms, the player pursuit of endgame gear has reached an unprecedented fever pitch. Everyone is currently on the hunt for the most efficient farming routes available.

Are you still farming Diablo 4 dungeons the old-fashioned way? If so, you're already falling behind! Recently, several D4 players discovered a massive exploit within a Secret Goblin Dungeon that triggers a massive spawn, featuring quadruple bosses and thousands of goblins!

By utilizing this exploit, players can flood their screens with Set Charms, Unique items, and even rare Mythic Uniques in just a few short minutes. Given that this bug severely disrupts the in-game economy and loot balance, the developers are highly likely to release a hotfix very soon; players eager to experience this exploit should act fast before it's patched!

Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Secret Goblin Dungeon exploit broke the economy! | Farm Infinite Mythic Uniques before the Hotfix Hits!

The core mechanics of the exploit

The execution of this bug hinges on a specific interaction within the new War Plans system introduced in Lord of Hatred, specifically, the Gauntlet node found within Nightmare Dungeons branch. Simply put, once you activate the corresponding Shrine within a Nightmare Dungeon, the souls of any enemies you kill while under Shrine's effect are captured and imprisoned. When the buff expires, these captured souls rematerialize, reverting back into hostile enemies. This effectively provides you with a second wave of enemies to slaughter, allowing you to maximize monster density, secure more loot, and accelerate your collection of Diablo 4 items and crafting materials.

According to the developers' original design, dungeon bosses were intended to be immune to the soul-imprisonment effect of the Gauntlet node. However, inside this particular Secret Goblin Dungeon, the dungeon's resident Goblin Boss is erroneously classified by the system as a standard monster, meaning it fully triggers and benefits from Shrine buff!

Even more absurd is what happens if players encounter the goblin variant known as Gelatinous Syrus within the dungeon. Since this creature splits into several smaller goblins upon death, the system treats each of these resulting smaller goblins as a distinct, independent soul to be captured. Consequently, when Shrine buff expires, every single one of those captured small goblin souls resurrects on the spot, transforming back into a fully grown, full-sized Gelatinous Syrus! This mechanism, involving exponential splitting and resurrection, is precisely the key that gives you the opportunity to farm over 2,000 Goblins within just a few minutes!

Prerequisites

To perfectly execute a single dungeon run yielding quadruple boss encounters and infinite goblin rewards, you must meet the following conditions:

Specific Nightmare Sigils

First, you need to unlock Nightmare Sigils that possess Shrine affix. This ensures that the dungeon contains a sufficiently high density of shrine buffs.

War Plans

You must allocate points to and activate two key nodes within Nightmare Dungeon branch of War Plans board: Greed is Good and The Gauntlet.

  • Greed is Good: This serves as the prerequisite for triggering the entire sequence. Once this node is active, killing a standard Treasure Goblin within a Nightmare Dungeon grants a very small chance of opening a portal, transporting the player into the extremely rare Secret Goblin Dungeon.
  • The Gauntlet: As the core node responsible for monster replication, The Gauntlet allows players to automatically harvest the souls of enemies killed while under the influence of a Shrine buff. Once the buff expires, all the monsters killed during that period will instantly resurrect en masse, clustering around the player.

A build with extremely high DPS and high mobility

Finally, with all other preparations complete, you just need the right build to seal the deal! During the explosive phase triggered by this exploit, hundreds or even thousands of Goblins will instantly flood the screen. If you cannot instantly vaporize them all within a very short timeframe, the goblins will scatter and flee. At this critical juncture, a high-mobility build is essential for navigating through such a dense horde of monsters and efficiently harvesting your loot.

How to execute this exploit?

Once you have been fortunate enough to trigger the portal via Greed is Good node and enter Secret Goblin Dungeon, you must follow the steps below to maximize your rewards. If the sequence is executed incorrectly, the exploit may fail prematurely.

Phase One

Upon entering Secret Goblin Dungeon, do not rush to kill any monsters immediately. Instead, quickly sprint through the map to scout out the exact locations of all the shrines within the dungeon, and commit their positions to memory.

Next, backtrack to the first shrine you encountered and activate it. While the buff from this first shrine is still active, sprint at full speed into the boss lair and defeat the boss. Upon death, the boss drops a unique chest. Note: smashing this chest releases an additional batch of standard goblins. Seize this opportunity to eliminate them, along with the boss, before the active buff expires.

Phase Two

As the countdown for the first Shrine's buff begins, immediately sprint to the location of the second Shrine. However, under no circumstances should you activate it prematurely!

The instant the first Shrine's buff timer hits zero, thanks to The Gauntlet node effect, the boss you just killed, along with those standard Goblins, will instantly and simultaneously resurrect right beside you.

The moment you see the monster revive, immediately click to activate the second Shrine. Empowered by the second Shrine's buff, proceed to slaughter all the newly resurrected Goblins once again. Naturally, do not overlook the chest that drops in their wake; be sure to smash it and kill the new batch of Goblins it spawns as well.

Then, simply remain stationary and wait for the second shrine's buff to expire naturally. At this point, because you eliminated a multiplied number of monsters while the second Shrine was active, the system will instantly spawn two Bosses and a countless horde of Goblins right where you stand. Thoroughly annihilate this wave of monsters, and you can then happily proceed to loot the ground, which will be strewn with unique items and set charms.

Phase Three

Once you have finished collecting all the core loot scattered on the ground, do not click the exit portal to leave the dungeon. Instead, press the T key to cast your personal Town Portal and return to the main town. However, the adventure is not over yet; after clearing out your inventory, step back through the portal you just opened.

A crucial point to note here is that upon returning via your personal Town Portal, the system will not send you back to the dungeon instance you just cleared. Instead, it will forcibly generate a brand-new instance of Secret Goblin Dungeon just for you!

In this fresh instance, although Shrines will no longer respawn, you can still kill the boss and the native Goblins found within this instance one final time.

Thus concludes the process: within a single run of Secret Goblin Dungeon, we have successfully achieved a total of four boss kills and harvested an incalculable number of goblins.

Goblin Drops

Since Shrine effect multiplies the special Goblins you kill, understanding the specific types of loot dropped by different Goblins will help you better assess the overall value of your current dungeon run. The table below summarizes the loot drops from the common goblins found in Secret Goblin Dungeon:

Goblin Types Drop Loot
Odious Ector Crafting materials and Obducite
Gilded Baron Gold
Glittering Prym Gem Fragments, Runes, and Undercity Tributes
Curious Murl Obols
Gelatinous Syrus Each split-off goblin has a chance to drop loot such as gear, boss-specific items, and gold
Fancy Old Fedric Mythic Uniques and Resplendent Sparks

In short, this Secret Goblin Dungeon bug can be described as one of the most insane loot-drop exploits to emerge recently in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. With screens full of unique items and set charms, it drastically cuts down the time players need to spend grinding for endgame gear.

However, developers typically maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward exploits that enable such rapid farming and severely undermine the longevity of a season. So, before the developers release their next hotfix, gear up quickly and dive in to experience the sheer frenzy of being absolutely buried in treasure!
